What's bugging you? (2007)

splitterpfj

As the new season approaches, a few things are building up, waiting to bug me in the near future.....

Yankees/Red Sox every 7 minutes on ESPN.

John Kruk on ESPN.

Cold Pizza on ESPN.

Colin Cowherd on ESPN radio.

Chris Berman, fifteen years past his prime on ESPN.

9,000 "Will Clemens Retire?" updates on ESPN

Bill Schroeder on FSN....hey, how'd that get in here?

People in the fast lane going the same speed as the people in the slow lane.

LOCKS -Just think what it would be like if there was no crime and we didnt have to carry keys around for cars or doors.

Speed Limit - signs 100 feet or less apart.

The fact ESPN insists on calling Edge "the Edge" and calling Gregory Helms The Hurricane, even though he hasn't been The Hurricane since like 2005. And apparently CBS believes Chris Lofton is now James Lofton, and Steve Lavin believes Bill Self is the coach of Tennessee.

ESPN in general bugs me. Skip Bayless bugs me. Steve Lavin bugs me. I like Woody Paige, though. lol

Customer transactions like the one I had today: a visitor asked me several questions at a rapid-fire pace, then before I could address even one of them, turned around and called after her departing friend so she could take a picture of her (which took a few minutes, as she took several pictures and they each cooed over the results on the camera review screen).

Also, the first of her questions was "is that really your natural hair color?", and she called me "honey." But it bugged me more that she asked me questions and then interrupted me as I tried to answer.

To her credit, she was apologetic - both for making me wait to answer the questions she'd asked me and for asking about my hair.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I know someone who tells people she doesn't know what her natural hair color is.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

I am hardly a fan of pop music but have begun to appreciate it for it's absolute absurd hilarity.

But on to what is bugging me...when mid song the singer bust's out into the seventh grade spelling bee. I think that every song by Fergie they bust out with the spelling bee. Is it to prove to people that hey look I got past 3rd grade, I can spell tasty, t - a - s - t - y. Is she trying make sure that when her looks start to fade she will always have a job on Sesame Street?

This thread is tight, t - i - g - h - t.

I could probably go on for hours and hours about the billions of things bugging me about pop music but, i'll save that for another day, because I am certain you all want to hear. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif

The term "Big Ben" being used for every sports player named Ben. ESPN uses this term all the time, and it becomes impossible to figure out which Ben they are referring to. They had an article about "Big Ben" being sick and had to sit out. I assumed Ben Roethlisburger, but it was Ben Wallace. Then Big Ben pitched a 2 hit complete game on opening day. Enough with the Big Ben!

George Webb's

After the 7-1 win Monday, I was hungry for 6-for-5 burgers at Webbs all day Tuesday. We sit down at 6 and the waitress informs us the offer isn't good because the offer ends 24 hours after the conclusion of the preceding game.

We go to the game Tuesday and the ad running between innings states "offer good until midnight the following day."

George Webb's

Last year, the Webb's downtown Milwaukee wouldn't honor the 6-for-5 deal. The Brewers scored 6 or 7 runs one game, went down there a little after midnight, and wouldn't give us the deal. We were a little peeved.

in regards to George Webb's, don't the commercials say something like, "stop into any participating George Webb's to receive 6 burgers for $5?" The key word is "participating." Some restaurants may not participate in the gimmick.

Too bad. They'd probably get more business.

Colon Cowturd( yeah I'm 10) shut down the Big Lead today with DoS attack. No, he didn't say that technically but asked his listeners to do it. He is a piece of garbage. First he steals material from the blogs and now this. He is the worst of the worst in sports radio. I wish him ill for a cowardly stunt and hope the TBL sues that crap company ESPN. Viva La Internet Revolution!!! This is actually a time I wish swears were allowed. done.

  • 2 weeks later...

People with out any passengers using the carpool lane while I sit patiently in line with everyone else.

Just once, I wish they had a cop standing right next to the traffic light handing out tickets.

I get sooo freaking mad just thinking about.

Ditto. It's at least once a day as I'm getting on I-94 westbound from Hwy 100 that I see this happen. Seems like it'd be easy money.
