What's bugging you? (2007)

I had the awesome idea of taking our Springer Spaniel for a walk to her favorite stomping grounds - a local church lot where she can run off the leash. Unfortunately, the snow had the awesome idea to clump up in her feathers (term for part of this breed's - and others' - coat) in the biggest snowballs she's ever gotten... several were as big as baseballs, and intertwined very tightly with her fur. Melting them off with warm water when I got home took as long as the walk. It was still worth it - today's snowfall was breathtakingly gorgeous.

I just laugh at my Cocker when her fur gets snarled because she reminds me of an Ewok and fur snarls just seem to add to that effect.

It bugs me when people are saying, today, December 31st, 2007, Happy New Year. Last time I checked, we're not in the NEW year, we're still in the OLD year. Unless I'm in some alternate reality, or I slept for 2 days and it actually is January 1st, 2008.

I actually do end up blowing it back on my sidewalk almost immediately and I make sure that I'm not blowing it into traffic lanes, just the shoulder...
To me, this is ok...at least you don't leave it in the middle of the street. I'm targeting the people who have their chute facing forwards from their driveway into the road, then don't bother to clean it up. I've also put it into the street a bit before, but then immediately moved it back to the yard or the curbside strip of lawn. Once you get to the end of the driveway, there are few options...but be curtious to everyone and don't leave your snow in the middle of a plowed street.
I am guilty. I do this a bit in the alley of my house simply because for some reason the snow always melts in the alley. I move all I can to other places but I do dump some snow in the middle of the alley.

I dont know if I feel guilty or not. I have always told myself that I get taxed like Mad in this city and I am paying for them to plow my streets. On years where it hasnt snowed much I never got a partial refund.

I guess where I come from its always Me versus The Man. Its been a struggle for Top Dog since a couple days after I was born.
