What's bugging you? (2007)

splitterpfj
JimH5[/b]]I was out shopping today with my 3-year old daughter. She needed to go to the bathroom, so I took her into the mens room. There was just one stall, and the toilet was a complete mess.

Who is too lazy/selfish/antisocial to clean up their own urine?

I spent 30 seconds cleaning up after some other disgusting creep so my daughter had a "clean" place to go, since the previous user was some filthy subspecies.

Honestly, it's the most basic consideration you can have for your fellow man.

This bugs me too. My roomate is a disgusting pig in this aspect as well at home. I can't go #2 without thoroughly cleaning the seat with disinfectant.

I think I've complained about him more than once in this thread--I think I might hate him...

I used to think my biggest pet peeve was when people didn't use their blinkers.

That's now been moved down to #2 on the list, right behind when people feel the need to listen to music with the bass at an unreasonable level.

When driving in the car and listening to music, I really hate songs that have noises that sound like my car is breaking down or my wheel is slowly losing it's lugnuts one by one, or police sirens. It gets me everytime.

Also, my incredibly complex password to log on to brewerfan.net, which I have long since memorized, but still have to think about for a second when logging on. There is probably a way to personalize it, but I can't put in the effort to research how to do it.

Oh yeah, one other thing that's bugging me is the fact that I got called in to work at 5am on my birthday, which wouldn't be so bad except that work is a 10 hour drive to New Mexico, directly followed by a 12 hour shift from 4pm to 4am. And I had plans. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

Commercial songs...at least those products that have one song for all of their commercials. Apple, I know how to count, so I no longer need to hear 1,2,3,4. Honda, I'm tired of holding on to my dream, espcially when it isn't an Accord. Carnival cruises...I know you want people to have a lust for life, but I don't think you want them to have a lust for the life Iggy Pop had when he wrote that song. I still can't listen to Journey's Any Way You Want It because of a stupid summer-long Ford commercial 4 years ago. Even when I hear it watching Caddyshack, I can't get the stupid Ford commercial out of my mind.

People that talk on their cell phones at the gym.

Bluetooth headsets - you look like a crazy person talking to yourself.

I'll expand on both of those:

People who call you on their cell and expect you to patiently try to hear them even though they're in a noisy place or reception is crummy.

People who yell at you for talking or making some other kind of noise because you don't notice that they're babbling on their bluetooth headset.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

One of my job duties is establishing the annual hours schedule for my workplace. It's not so much making the decisions, since most schedule exceptions are set outside my agency (dates of state holidays and UW intersessions), but I make a little handout for visitors that lists dates when we're closed for holidays or closing early during UW intersessions, make sure the same info gets posted on our website, etc.

On Friday I emailed a copy of the 2008 schedule to other employees. Now I have a response from a temp employee (not in my section) that really looks like he's complaining about how much we're closed at Christmas and New Year's this year (2007 into 2008 - because the Eves and Days fall on Monday and Tuesday, we are closed the weekend prior to each). Since he does not have paid leave, he will be denied hours at the time he needs them most.

So I was trying to think of a nice way to say "um, I'm not plotting to reduce your paycheck, that's just how the dates fall this year" - but I can't think of one.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

...and you also aren't even CLOSE to being that important. Really, you need to keep that headset on while you shop? Judging by the 93 Corolla i saw you hop out of, you're probably not that much of a mover and shaker who can't step away from his phone. What's worse is people who wear them in noisy environments like nightclubs where you couldn't possibly even use the thing. It then becomes a fashion statement or some kind of $30 status symbol. Hey dingus, I've got a cell phone, too. Wanna know who else has a cell phone? My grandma.

The fact that they don't give you caps with your bottled sodas at Packer games. I knew this and I was going to bring my own caps in today, but I forgot. I was told it was an NFL rule when I asked. Huh? Were people throwing caps at the players or what? What about rappers for hot dogs, couldn't they throw those at players too? Maybe they shouldn't sell anything. Couldn't anything be thrown? Why the crack down on soda caps?

I hate having a beverages with no caps. Especially when people are going in and out of the aisle and you have to make sure that your beverage does not get tipped over. They do this at some spring training sites too, which is even more of a pain in the butt. Especially if you sit out in the grass which is not level..where are you supposed to rest your non-capped soda?

They take the caps away at Brewer games, too.

I think the problem is that when there's liquid in a capped bottle, you also have a pretty significant projectile in hand.

We always bring in our own beverages to the Brewer's games...so I never noticed. At least they have drink holders there...so it's not as big of a deal.

i know nobody will really relate, but the City of Winston-Salem, North Carolina bugs me, and I want to vent a little. it's the best city to live in in the nation for retirees, so you can imagine what life is like if you're under 40 (it's also the 6th worst city in the nation for single people).

In this city of 200,000 people:

--If you want to go out, but not to a bar, your options are extremely limited, dare i say nonexistent.

--only one (1) remotely decent sports bar in the entire city.

--downtown virtually shuts down by 9 pm on Friday and Saturday nights, no exaggeration.

--want a late-night snack? sorry, the hot-dog place downtown closes at 8 pm.

--all younger, single people i've met here decide to move away within three months.

--Thai and Japanese are the only ethnic dining options.

--nobody cares about baseball.

--the city council tried to pass a law that would have mandated security guards and metal detectors in every bar (knowingly eliminating most bars in the city). Though it failed, it's indicitave of the city's view of young people.

--the only good Irish pub in the city closes at 9.

The Apple Ipod Touch commercial song is killing me right now. I keep whistling the "music is my boyfriend" melody. Then, my wife, being the funny one that she thinks she is (is this another thing that is bugging me as well?), set this song to play upon turning on my laptop as the power-up sound. AHH!!! I'm not sure how to post the actual youtube video but here is the link. Again...AHH!!

I broke up with my girlfriend a few weeks ago after three years of dating and she is taking it horribly. I didn't see us going any farther, and I realized I wouldn't be able to marry her. I didn't see another solution to the problem. Anyway, she's calling me constantly and each conversation turns into me getting berated for over an hour. I want to be a nice person, but I don't know how much more I can take.

Jumpin' Mac, you've handled it well thus far, it sounds like. You have to be unafraid to do what's best for you, and it sounds like this is what you've done. It sounds very much like she'd disagree with the 'I couldn't see marriage/long-term' angle, but that's life. If you know your decision to be right for you, then don't be afraid to stick by it.

There's nothing that says you have to get berated, but you sound like a cool guy to be willing to discuss it with her. It's tough to not be on the same page with someone in this way, but don't feel wrong that you believe in something different from her. It's only natural that someone would feel frustrated and/or angry if they felt the long-term thing were there.

Thanks TLB. I've tried to be understanding, but it just bites me in the rump. The discussions always just seem to come back to me not fully understanding how much I hurt her and how I'm not the kind of person she felt I was and I will never understand how she feels.

Ultimately, I know the decision I made was the right one for me, and if my heart and feelings weren't going to be in the relationship, it was probably the fair decision for her too. It was really hard to stick to my guns for the first week or so, but I know I have to be true to myself as well. Tonight was particularly crappy, so I felt like sharing.

You've hashed out the relevant details right there, Mac. Sure, her perspective counts, too - but don't lose what you know to be true.

This really bugs me:

- People who don't tip the sever because there steak or toast wasn't done right... All the server can do is give it back to the cooks to start over and re-cook it or put it on longer. Every persons Medium is DIFFERENT!!!!
