What's bugging you? (2007)

"If you want it, heeere it is, come and get it. You better hurry 'cause it's going fast!"

Nothing makes me reach for the mute button quicker. Not even "Our Country".

Edit: I noticed that this has already been mentioned. I'm glad others feel the same way.

Commercials for TVs where they show the guy hanging his new TV with it turned on. Would anyone really do that?

On the other hand hearing The Clash version of Pressure Drop for some car ad is cool.

I heard The Clash "Time Is Tight" once while watching my local on the 8's.

People who hold in their sneezes. It's irritating to listen to, it could seriously mess up your sinuses and/or blow a hole in your eardrum, and it negates the purpose of sneezes. Yet people still think it's a good idea for some reason.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but those Coors Lite commercials with the NFL coaches are terrible. One in every 5 actually is creative or makes me laugh, but the other ones are just dreadful...

on a brighter note I love all Sonic commercials when they are in the drive thru... lol

People who hold in their sneezes.

The opposite extreme also bugs me: people who let loose almost theatrically with their sneezes. A former employee at my workplace is renowned professionally, but infamous in my office for sneezing so audibly that we could hear it clearly from over 100 feet away. Seriously.

This person has a type A+ extroverted personality. I've always suspected that's part of the reason behind the extremely loud sneezes.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Celebrating Columbus Day. I'm a history nerd, so I've studied this quite a bit. Yeah, he was the first Italian-sailing for Portugal explorer to make landfall at the western hemisphere, but I find it difficult to celebrate someone that "discovered" a land that was already inhabited, and the land was "discovered" by the Vikings years before. Columbus never stepped foot on the present-day US mainland, so why do we celebrate it?

Listening to Madden say "May-zhur for a first down." I'd rather rip my heart out right of my ribcage with my bare hands and then throw in on the floor and stomp on it 'til I die. . .than hear badly mispronounced words.

Dat, nice Weird Al reference.

I want to second 19's comment about holding in sneezes. My wife does it all the time and it bugs the crap out of me. You are so right about the sinus trouble. She wonders why she has it and won't listen to me tell her to just sneeze. It's like she thinks she's being rude or something. EVERYONE SNEEZES, DEAR! Let 'er fly!

Yes, they're just brutally unfunny. I could see if each press conference they used was really famous and memorable but it's just completely pointless the way they just use some generic footage of different coaches.

The Dennis Green one was hilarious though. I agree that it's about 1 in 5...but that was definitely the 1.

If I had Braun's pee in my fridge I'd tell everybody.

There's 2 good Dennis Green ones, the one where they took the tape from the Arizona/Chicago game, and the one where it went like this:

Guy #1: The rules?

DG: The rules were fair.

Guy #2: The Regulations?

DG: The regulations were fair.

Guy #3: The competitive balance?

DG: The competitive balance was fair.

That's a good one.

My VB professor is evil incarnate:

Create a function that accepts three integers and returns the Smallest number.

My response:

Public Function Smallest(ByVal int1 As Integer, ByVal int2 As Integer, ByVal int3 As Integer) As Integer

If int1 < int2 Then

If int1 < int3 Then

Return int1

Else

Return int2

End If

Else

If int2 < int3Then

Return int2

Else

Return int3

End If

End If

Grade: 0/20

Professor comments:

Functions return a value!!! - NOT Correct - does not meet requirements.

Requirement state -> Function that ACCEPTS three integers - that should have been your clue to PASS the integers to the function and Return the Smallest.

Your function is not accepting any parameters or returning anything.

Well, at least she refuses to respond to email in this online class, so I'm sure we'll get it sorted out.

Your professor is a moron. Although, I would have used Math.Min instead of a series of nested if statements.

I was pretty sure that for a midterm, that she wanted some sort of longhand thing using if statements (since that's about as far as we've gotten). Otherwise that would have been nice. This is about the 5th problem I've had with her so far. I may be bald by the end of the semester.

Dane Cook being popular bugs me

His special was on HBO and even though he sucks,i watched part of it.The parts i watched were painfully bad,yet everyone in the crowd was laughing like he was the second coming of Richard Pryor.

I don't get his appeal at all

No, but he's a good-looking dude. Not too many stand-ups are handsome-looking guys. I honestly think that's it (as in, that's all). The man is not funny.

OMG! DC totally contorts himself on stage - he iz 2 funE!

People casemarking their pronouns incorrectly.

1) When people oversuse "I" and say or write things like, "You can send that email to Jim or I". It's "Jim or me". You wouldn't say, "you can send that to I."

2) When people misuse "whom". I see people say things like, "If Jim or whomever gives us the information we need..." Whom is to be used only in the accusative or dative case.

The fact that this bothers me really bothers me. I have become my parents and I always hated grammar in grade school.
