What's bugging you? (2009)

Here's what's bugging me:

You know those commercials for law firm Binder & Binder that are all over TV? Why is Charles Binder wearing a cowboy hat? I started typing it in Google, and sure enough, one of the first suggested searches was "charles binder cowboy hat." Is he trying to look tough or fatherly or something? Covering an embarrassing bald spot? I just don't get it.

I live in San Antonio, and it is predicted to SNOW tomorrow...yes, I typed that correctly. I seriously thought that almost 2 years ago, on the day I left Wisconsin in a 12 inch snowfall, that would be the last time I'd ever see snow. Especially living in South Texas. It's been cold this week, which isn't that bad, but snow? Come on.

Lazy sports talk radio hosts. Drew Olson just said that Randy Wolf has never had a major injury. Cmon Drew, you have one job-know about sports. I'm willing to cut him a little slack on other sports, but the guy was an MLB beat writer for cryin' out loud!

We are out of cheese. I asked my wife since I shoveled the driveway if she would get some cheese. She says no. She ends up going to the library without telling me and fails to return with cheese. A mere book about cheese would have sufficed. But no...

This is wrong. Wrong I say, on many levels. A caning may be in order.

After shoveling and removing downed trees from my house, I had 2 grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch.

But back to topic......here's what bugs me lately

People who constantly whine and piss and moan on facebook about how much their life sucks.

I had avoided this booming social phenomenon for as long as I could, until many friends and co-workers convinced me to sign up because of the huge group of people from work on it.

From what I can tell, the main purpose of social networking sites is to have a forum to whine about.......

1.) how much your life sucks.

2.) the fact that you're currently bored (and believe me, I don't care)

3.) anything else that can give the person a reason to whine.

That's not networking. That's lame.

What's bugging me now: I went to the grocery store to get said cheese and left without getting any. I got distracted from my mission when my 19 month old boy started running off in the store. I think he's in on the conspiracy. My wife gets bonus demerits for adding to my mental shopping list of one item.

She must be my wife's long lost sister. Sayeth she: "We need to clean the house before the nurse gets here tomorrow." I spent 4+ hours behind a snowthrower (our drive plus a couple of neighbors whose machines died recently). She spent 4+ hours watching tv and playing solitaire on the pc. She is now out shopping. This is not an isolated incident.

What's bugging me is DatHoser's lack of cheese. As someone whose livelihood is tied to the supply and demand of cheese; I say get this man his cheese! and buy some extra for your self while your at it. Makes good x-mas gift. Cheese and sausage and beer and brat mustard and so on.

Kraft shredded Mexican style taco cheese is not good.

ALL CHEESE IS GOOD. EAT MORE! IT GETS BETTER AS YOU GO!

Zing! Nice one!

My slingbox is bugging me right now. I upgraded it last night and was setting it up for remote viewing. After fidgeting with the router for an hour to get the settings right, it finally stated that it was set up correctly for remote viewing. So I try it at work and it says that it's not set up for remote viewing.

I'm hoping it's only because of some block on the work network, but I only wanted to test it out (no speakers at work so it's rather pointless for work). This bugs me.

As commented on in the weather thread, the City of Madison's incompetence is bugging me. How you can let your city's streets turn into total crap and do nothing about it is ridiculous.

Even better, they say they'll be out clearing snowbanks/blind spots today, so what do I see? A city dump truck pushing snow piles with its bumper followed by a jeep further pushing the snow followed by a city pickup with an orange siren followed by another orange pickup! That's great, 4 city vehicles to push a snow pile of snow 10 feet from a corner. Unreal.

In regards to government, the city of Madison sucks.

To continue on Burnie's comment (and to de-clutter the winter weather thread from us complaining about Madison's streets)...

I love all of the yarns that the Madison governmental people are spinning. First off, they wanted to keep plowing instead of switching some to salters. Why can't they do both? Then it was too cold. Well, then how did the county and other municipalities put salt on their roads? I take highway 113 out of Madison towards Waunakee on my way home, and 113 was clear once I got out of the city. It was even dry in some places. Highway M was salted, as were the roads in Middleton. Why can't Madison salt? Then they talk about environmental reasons. I know Madison uses less salt on side streets because it hurts the lake. Fine. What about the main streets? University Avenue and East Washington should be the absolute first roads cleared in Madison, yet things were so bad on E. Wash, that a semi jack knifed this morning, closing the road. Now they are complaining about how much it is going to cost. Wow...what next?

Madison is far more concerned with lakes than its citizens. This sucks.
