What's bugging you? (2009)

splitterpfj

I know we had a "bad driving habits" thread about a year or so ago, but lately there have been two things that have really been bugging me on the roads:

A. People that don't know how to make left hand turns. Especially on side streets. I almost got hit head on 2 or 3 times in the last week by people who don't seem to have the physical capability of widening their turns when they are making a left hand turn. Stay in your lane!

B. People who seem to have no destination and are appear to be just driving around aimlessly. Of, course I encounter this a lot as a pedestrian as well in on narrow crowded sidewalks or hallways.

Heard "Wizards in Winter" by Trans-Siberian Orchestra today on the radio. We are 2.5 months away from Christmas, and 1.5 months until shopping season. I understand the radio station wants to advertise for TSO's concert on November 9, but come on...the whole song?

Oh no, did they announce their start date? I like Christmas music, but not their playlist and not starting in October.

Oh no, not yet. I saw Christmas trees in a department store already. Too early.

I hate the holidays, except for the joy they bring my daughter.

People who talk about or talk to their pets(worse) like they are their children.

Packer fans who loath Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy, but don't have an answer to who should replace them besides "anybody". Some are the same people who assume Ron Wolf and Holmgren would return if only somebody would call them. Please, stop living in the past people!

Does any adult like the Christmas season? Seriously? I hate it, and I don't have to organize presents and kids and relatives.

Thank God for New Years!

I love Christmas. It's a ton of work, but well worth it for me.

Just before checking back in with Brewerfan.net, I was on Amazon, ordering a bunch of Christmas CDs. Bing Crosby, Perry Como, new Bob Dylan, Chris Isaak, Ray Conniff, Andrews Sisters, Ella Fitzgerald, Andy Williams. . .a total schlockfest.

It's the most wonderful time

of the year.

Christmas is fine for me, but then again, we don't have kids. Way less work.

That reminds me that our anniversary is in a week and I still don't know what I'm getting my wife. :P

What's really bugging me is that one of our business lines has been down for a week. It's been like pulling teeth to get AT&T to fix the situation. No phone and internet is kind of a problem, but I can't even get them to keep a damn service appointment. So this afternoon I'm going to our location to babysit the place and hope to hell someone shows up before 6 PM like they say they will. Was supposed to go to a party this afternoon, too. Ah, the joys of self-employment.

I absolutley hate big sporting events on CBS or NBC (i.e. LSU vs. Fla State tonight). My HD picture for sporting events on those two networks is horrible.

March madness is really "madening". I bought my TV in Feb of 08'. The first big sporting event was the NCAA hoops tourney. I thought I wasted my money and purchased a "lemon" TV. It took me a while to realize it's basically just NBC and CBS that I have issues with.

Women/girls that wear Chuck Taylors. Not a fan.

On a trip to the dentist's office a few years ago, I saw a woman wearing Chuck Taylors with heels.

They were a different color, but I was kind of appalled anyway. What is the point of these?

I realize I have developed a reputation around here of being an upbeat person (at least compared to many of you http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif).

However, the employees at Trader Joe's are off the upbeat charts, just relentlessly upbeat, to the point where it's bugging me. It's not quite enough to drive me away, since it's literally a neighborhood store for me, and we've identified a few items that we prefer to buy there (some of which are less expensive than even Woodman's). But they're so upbeat that I feel like a curmudgeon in comparison.

I also don't get the cult-like appeal of Trader Joe's, but I have no problem resisting it. To me, it's just a handy place to pick up a few items on the way home from work, or if I don't feel like using the car.

I love Trader Joe's and Whole Foods....it gives certain people a place to shop where they can find their hippie, free-range, organic, gluten free, unbleached, soy, bulk, all-natural whatever they're looking for....all while not trying to sell me on the "you'd sell sooooo much of it if you carried it" line....
