What's bugging you? (2009)

I had unauthorized charges on my paypal account this morning putting my bank account in the negative by $200 bucks. It was Zynga game network which I guess is some facebook games. Not sure how this happened but I don't even play those games. I contacted both my bank and paypal but it doesn't look like I'll get my money back for awhile...ugh

The Bradley Center box office doesn't charge any fees when you purchase tickets in person. Some facilities, The Rave for example, will charge you those stupid facility fees when you purchase them in person. Stubhub doesn't charge any exorbitant fees, besides the commission, which I understand completely, but Ticketmaster makes a killing nickel and diming customers.

jason21nl, I had the same thing happen to me about 2 years ago. It wasn't Zynga, but it was from some online gaming site, and I've never played any kind of games online in my life. Somehow these people are able to hack peoples paypal accounts.

I would also recommend changing your username / password on anyother accounts you have if they are the same as your paypal account. One day after my paypal account was hacked, my email was hacked cause I was using the same username / password. It was a huge pain.

If you're a cyclist and riding on the sidewalk, you give pedestrians the right of way. If you're riding on the street, you still have to obey all the same traffic laws that motor vehicles do (i.e., stop signs). I don't see why this is so hard for some people.

I was informed that Mannheim Steamroller would be performing in Appleton in December but when I look to buy tickets there are only singles available from the box office. If I want to get four seats together, I have to buy from ticket outlets or whatever for prices that are WAY over-priced for one of their concerts. (Seriously? $200.00 a ticket? $150.00 a ticket? Are these printed on gold?)

Thankfully, Trans-Siberian Orchestra is in Las Vegas in early December and their tickets go on sale on Saturday. And Mannheim is in Vegas the following weekend, but the tickets are not for sale yet. Interesting that they are pretty much sold out for Dec. 20th in Wisconsin but not even on sale yet for Dec. 13th in Vegas.

What's bugging me...is people who call to complain about library fines, are told politely that an appeal process is available...then wait 4 1/2 months to file said appeal, and take the charming approach that the resulting delay was our fault.

Here's a tip to you all: If you want to protest something like a library fine, do it promptly. When you wait to complain until you need a transcript or a registration change or more loans or whatever, it only reinforces the impression you've already made - that returning someone else's property on time wasn't important to you in the first place.

Yeah, some people don't grasp the concept that their personal finances are anything is their own responsibility, not a business or other person's.
Fixed. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif And I wish I were exaggerating.

A friend of mine told me she and her husband have decided to divorce. This morning she emailed me to tell me she'd contacted an attorney, and was told they may not be able to represent her, because they have so many divorces currently in progress...they literally may not have time to handle another one right now.

I get it, I know how common divorce is...but that just makes me sad.

Sounds like your employees take their work practices from some of mine.

The worst was when an employee who had been with us for only about a week texted me on a Monday morning that the tie rods on her car had gone bad and she had to get them replaced, while they were still up north. This was during a camping trip she had told me she was going on. Never heard from her again after repeated phone calls. Later found her listed on the roster of a local school as an employee. Yeah, I wasn't too happy about that one. It's one thing if you suddenly find a better job, but at least have the courtesy to tell your employer what the hell is up.

Ooh, Invader, you've got me beat with that one.

Since all of my employees are college students, there's a degree of less-than-ideal employee behavior that I just have to accept as part of their learning experience. For some students, working for me is their first 'real' job. The person in today's example has been in the workforce long enough to know better. I know her well enough to realize that she probably spent the morning hoping that she could tough it out this afternoon, rather than consciously taking the passive-aggressive approach. She may not realize that the way she handled this gave the exact impression of the latter.

It's also possible that she started off with more or less ordinary cold symptoms, and felt sharply worse over like the noon hour. The H1N1 virus is all over UW-Madison, and its onset appears to be that abrupt. I'll find out soon enough if that's the case.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.
