What's bugging you? (2009)

splitterpfj

Nope, don't think I saw you. I was far too hot and annoyed with the Brewers to really notice the people around me, aside from the guys behind me.

We were on the aisle in 416, on the 415 side.

Also bugging me: It was Ryan Braun tradeable fathead night for kids and despite getting inside the stadium at 6, my daughter didn't get one, nor did I see them anywhere. I hope they didn't exhaust their supply by giving them to all of the Little Leaguers walking the field pre-game. It's not a big deal, but it was her first game and I told her in advance about the giveaway. Oh well.

Last night at 3:00 in the morning it was 68 outside yet 82 in our house. Every window that could be opened in our house was open, how is that even possible?
I have this problem when my wife doesn't want to turn on the A/C. What I have done is have a fan (a box fan works wonders) in a window and have it blowing out. Pushing air out will lower the air pressure in your house, and cool air from outside will come inside to equalize the pressure.

To add on to NeedMoreFans comment, before we had AC we would use a big window fan in both of our bedroom windows - one blowing in and another blowing out. Worked great as our bedroom was a corner room.

One thing that bugs me about this current hot weather spell is the number of people in my office alone who are complaining about the heat, have AC at home and choose not to use it. Wha?? I can see my students who maybe don't want to raise their utility bill a lot, but not everyone in this situation is watching every penny.

Isn't weather like southern Wisconsin is seeing right now kind of the reason why air conditioning was invented?

Not only am I all over the A/C, I just bought a new stand fan that blows directly on my bed.

These window fans are great. I have two of them (in storage) but I can't use them anymore because I now have crank windows that open out, not up. When I had the proper windows, those fans would drastically cool down a room.

We have a Holmes fan like that, and it's awesome. You can have both fans blowing in, both blowing out, or one of each. Ours has a remote and at first I thought, how ridiculous - the window is two feet from my bed. But I quickly got accustomed to the convenience. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Back to bugging, though...I hate moving. My office is half moved, so for the rest of this week I'm bouncing back and forth between two areas.

I just can't keep away from the what's-bugging-you thread today.

In my Facebook inbox, I got a message from the high school classmates who are organizing our reunion later this summer, saying that if we haven't received email from them about the reunion by now, to be sure to send them our email address.

For starters, my email address appears in my Facebook profile, so if they had just looked, they'd have it by now. Also, since they've taken the time to become my Facebook friend, why don't they just use the Facebook inbox function to tell me what they're going to tell me?

I have not once watched an episode of Jon & Kate, so I am completely disinterested in anything having to do with either of them. I am peeved that nearly every news site online has a link to tell the latest news within the world of J & K.

Just because it's on tv doesn't mean the world has to care.

Why is it that certain people are so selfish they don't comprehend simple basics like traffic jams? I'm talking to you, the person who drives all the way up to the lane closure, trying to force your way in, creating a traffic jam for everyone behind you. Is it so difficult to understand if that everyone would move over in a timely fashion traffic would continue to flow? There's many of you out there... I've always been one to let people in where ever I am, sporting events, concerts, what have you... but you people that pull that garbage out on the highways, never again will I create space for you, rot in that closed lane.

When a thread I love/follow regularly on BF.net becomes one of those "last page shows up blank" threads in firefox....grrr!

That super-annoying bug has a birthday coming up in August.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Instead of "hiding" the posts (which I believe is what causes the jumps to be off), couldn't mods just delete all content in the post and leave it there, or would that not solve the issue? It obviously looks like a fix from Yuku isn't coming any time soon.

We went to the UW-Madison campus this evening to watch the rain-dated Rhythm & Booms. We watched from Observatory Hill, as we've done for years.

This year UW police did not block off Observatory Drive (as they have in the past), so traffic zoomed through during the whole show - including a bunch of tall SUVs, one work truck hauling a trailer, and a cab complete with flashing roof sign.

Also, one party who was parked on Observatory Drive just to our west decided to turn on their vehicle (another large SUV, though this would have been irritating with any vehicle), headlights ablaze, idled there for a minute, and then slowly pulled out - all with about two minutes left in the show (during the 1812 Overture, for those of you who have seen this before). If you're going to beat the traffic, why not leave sooner? Why wait until the highlight of the show?

The noise, motion and lights all were disruptive to viewers seated on the upper part of the hill. This makes me disappointed in people. I hate obliviousness.

The idiot in section 321, row 5 or 6 who feels the need to scream and grunt everytime a Brewers batter hits a ball in the air like it's a 500' HR. And also his 8 failed attempts yesterday to start a "We want Glavine" or "We want Pedro" chant during Suppan's struggles.

Sounds like he may have been a transplanted Cubs fan or something.

We generally refer to those routine fly balls as "Cub fan home runs"

If one more friggin person from Madison tells me that Madison is easier to navigate and traverse than Milwaukee, they'll be getting a swift karate chop to the adam's apple. I worked for 3 years in Milwaukee, and I've worked for 4 years in Madison, and Madison, your street design, layout, whatever you want to call it........SUCKS. 20 minutes from the time I get on an exit ramp off the beltline til the time I actually get to turn on the street that I'm trying to access is just nonsense, plain and simple, and it's like that everyday.

I can get from the lakefront out to Waukesha, or from South Milwaukee on up to say Germantown faster than I can get East/West or North/South in Madison.

Maybe if this craphole town wasn't built on lakes and swamps, you'd have a more defined grid that makes travel a little more rational.

Madison, you suck.
