Ah yes, Hawing, I just love those regulars. Got plenty of them myself...

Anyone ever been to Rosendale WI? I know of 2 people who recieved tickets on the main street for less than 5mph over the 25mph speed limit. (on hwy 26) One was

one of my grandparents visiting me in college (ticket read 28 in a 25) and the other was my college roomate's father. (29 in a 25) I think that is the only

town I ever make sure to do the exact posted speed.

That bothers me a lot......

Giving tickets for going 28 is stupid, but at the same time I kind of wish more police departments worked that way. Speed "limit" laws are incredibly stupid and poorly implemented IMO. Its ridiculous that drivers have to wonder how much over the posted limit is ok in some particular town - it's called a limit for a reason, and should be enforced as such. I'd like to see hard speed limits enforced everywhere, but have those posted limits raised to realistic speeds.

Or at the very least, call it a "recommended speed" or something.

I think law enforcement agencies are supposed to give cars a little leeway when it comes to speeding. Some speedometers are off by a couple MPH. My old car was fast by 3 MPH. What if a car gets pulled over for going 28 when their speedometer says they are going 25?

You'll get a statement from a mechanic and get a faulty speedometer ticket instead. I don't believe it carries points.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

It probably should be the owner's responsibility to make sure the speedometer is correct. However, in the situation I'm picturing, ideally everybody would be driving far enough under the speed limit most of the time that it isn't an issue.

Shipping time and costs.

I ordered something from Amazon. I amount of the order was enough that I qualified for free shipping, but it was 5-9 day shipping. Not a big deal, didn't need the item immediately. However, I don't understand why it would ever take 5-9 days to ship something. I ordered the item on Feb 1st. It shipped Feb 3rd and I'm not expected to get it until Feb 10th?!

This is what the tracking info states:

Date Time Location Event Details
February 3, 2010 08:37:11 PM Lexington KY US Your package is currently in transit. You will not see any tracking updates for the next 3 days.
February 3, 2010 08:37:11 PM Lexington KY US Shipment has left seller facility and is in transit

Why won't I see any tracking updates for 3 days? It's going from Lexington to Milwaukee. What are they using? A mule?

Does the package just sit somewhere because I didn't pay the extra costs to get it quicker, even though there would be no required extra effort to ship it quicker? I don't get it. It all just seems like a huge scam.

I believe the free shipping thru Amazon is treated like Bulk shipping. So in a way, you are right, it will just sit there while people's paid packages move ahead. I am under the impression that the free packages are treated as "all others"...as in, if there is room left in the truck after the paid. Priority goes ahead...so on and so on.

The guy in the McDonald's commercial who hasn't had his coffee yet.

And the guy on the ski lift with the Chase card checking his points.

THANK YOU. I hate that wanna-be Jason Segel.

I like the lady from the Chase sapphire commercials. Really good looking. I recognize her from somewhere but I can't put my finger on it.

For what it's worth, almost every free-shipping order I've made from Amazon has arrived sooner than its 'expected' date. Even in December (when you'd think transaction volume would be high) this has been the case. I imagine they'd rather "pleasantly surprise" you by having a package arrive before their stated deadline than turn you into a bitter wronged customer by estimating too early and having the package arrive after the deadline.

Who Dat. I hate it. So lame. Ranks right up there with Wazzzzzzup. I never liked that either. I am now cheering for Indy and hope the Saints suck next year so we don't have to go through this Who Dat crap again.

Fan is short for fanatic.

My iTunes is all messed up. We got a new computer, and I was able to transfer all the mp3s from the old PC to the new one. However, it doesn't find certain songs in my iTunes library...they're on the computer, but I have to click the "locate" button after trying to play the song that's missing, and then manually search for it on the hard drive. Kind of a pain.

Me: Why?

Bro: I hate everything he stands for, and he looks like a a grown man with a toddler's face.

my foot hurts. It's been hurting for 2 weeks.

I think I have plantar fasciitis since it's the bottom of my foot that is sore. But it's not the heel area. It's the area of the ball in your foot.

It bugs me.

My three year old dog has cataracts. I've been noticing he was having some kind of sight issues for over a week. Took him to the vet. Then took him to an opthamologist. He has cataracts that are in advanced stages in both eyes. He needs surgery or he will eventually go blind. $6,000 is a little bit hard to come up with. Especially when you're in the middle of planning a wedding. So long honeymoon. But he is my best friend and I can't just let him lose his sight at so young. He's at my side almost 24/7 and brings a ton of joy into my life. I'm really hoping he doesn't have any complications when he goes under the knife next week.

Security stopped a kid at the store last night who tried to walk out with a bag full of merchandise (soaps, lotions, beauty stuff) worth about 60 bucks. Most likely he was "set up" by his Mom who tried to have him walk out the door carrying the stolen merch so she wouldn't take the fall. After all, what 10-12 year old boy steals those things? They don't, normally they steal magazines, candy, etc.

So the kid gets escorted to a holding area while we recover the products. While he's asked to sit down he stands up and takes two swings at store employees who are trying to hold the door shut. All the while he's yelling and banging on the door. I am passing by and am asked to assist in backup. I pop my head in the door...the kid looks at me and says, "...And who the 'f' are you?"

My tongue still hurts from biting it. I had at least ten replies, but said nothing but "sit down". This kid had nothing behind his eyes, way too young to be that full of anger and way too small to have no fear of a guy my size.

The whole situation was just sad.

Oof, that sounds painful. I've been going through a similar thing, I suffered a heel contusion about four months ago when I slipped going down the stairs in my split-level. I was relieved when the x-ray showed no bone damage, which could've taken surgery and years to get back close to 100%.

However, the first three weeks were unbearable. Any amount of pressure I'd put on it was excruciating so I was walking around on my tippie-toe on that foot. Eventually the extreme pain subsided but it still bothers me as a dull ache when I'm on my feet for too long. I wasn't able to rest it as much as I needed to as I'm on my feet at work all day so I'm afraid it's gonna be something I'll have to deal with from now on as it is a very difficult area to treat. That bugs me.
