What's bugging you? (2011)

DatHoser

whoever is in love with Foxtrax and has it on the screen with every pitch of the Brewers' games this season, it's annoying and distracting. No other team's broadcast has it up for anywhere near as often. They'll use it for individual pitches on replay and that's it. It bugs me.

The only good thing is when they show how a pitcher is pitching a batter late in an at-bat by showing all pitches thrown at once.

I'm one of the bad guys for you. I love having it up for every pitch.

I hate having it up on every pitch. It's way too big and way too distracting. There is no need to show it on virtually every pitch. Just show it on close pitches or replays.

Or if they insist on having it up, find a way to make it smaller and not so distracting. I just don't see the need for it. Plus, I think it's off anyway but that's another issue.

On my way home from work after a curve in the road, it splits from 2 lanes to 3 with the right lane splitting and the left lane doesn't change at all. The new right lane eventually becomes a right turn only so I always go from the right lane to the center lane because I want to go straight after the intersection. Because of the curve, cars can go in a straight line and float from the left lane to the now center lane even though they are technically changing lanes. It bugs me that I'll be in the right lane about to go into the newly formed center lane only to be chased out by idiotic drivers who go from the left lane to the center lane without any idea that they are changing lanes.

I'm half tempted to let them hit me because it would be all their fault.

well, not the best day today. the Hyundai dealership service center calls me, tells me they can't quite figure out the problem, and that "maybe" it's the brake lines. this after i told them the problem, said i figured it was my calipers, and so they went ahead and replaced those for a hefty fee. also, since they can't identify which one, that "we'd like to just go ahead and replace all four." what??? i'm not exactly a rich man and can't quite afford to be throwing probably $600 to "maybe" fix a problem. i think i'm going to pull it out of that shop tomorrow morning and will have an honest (so raves a coworker) mechanic try and diagnose the problem. he already thinks it's NOT the brake lines but the ABS, although his shop doesn't fix foreign cars. maybe i can get a diagnosis and then take it back to the Hyundai service place and just tell them what to fix.

compounding the issue is that i work on Saturday and it's going to be a $75 (with tip) taxi ride one-way to work. i'll have to bring my tent and stay there overnight because i work again on Sunday.

also, i have hemorrhoids.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.

On the bus ride to work this morning, I saw a vehicle with a ball-glove logo license plate that read NFL 14. Anyone want to give me hope that the NFL doesn't mean there's a car owner out there who paid extra for Brewers plates and personalization to promote football?

It's nice that West Allis decided to set up tents for something or another on my street. But really, to the 5 guys who decided to throw, toss, and swordfight with the metal poles at 5AM this morning to the point where one of my neighbors called the cops on them because they were making that much noise.... ugh.

Planet green keeps running an ad that states "Storm Chasers - All new episode next Saturday at 8pm". They had the same ad running last weekend. Yet, from what I could there was no new episode last night (Just 5 rerun episodes). I look ahead a week on the guide...same thing next week. Why does the ad state "All new episode"?!

Today we were at a birthday party for a kid in the S.O.'s family. Every year at this party we see the birthday kid's "in-law" cousins (i.e. not our relatives), including these redhead identical twin boys who I swear could be voice doubles for Rod and Todd Flanders. They're probably 4 or 5 years old, and every time they ask for another cookie or whatever in their Rod and Todd voices, I wince inside.

This year, to add to my irritation, the twins burst onto the scene wearing identical Cubs shirts.

I'm not really familiar with the show but it could be that the show airs on another channel and now Planet Green has the rights to air past episodes. I've seen networks advertise these shows as "all new" when they are really just new to the channel. Not familiar with the show so I'm not sure if this is the case.

Yes, this is what I was thinking. The show use to be on Discovery (which I think is affiliated with Planet Green). It's still really, really misleading to call it "All New".

Conversation last week:

Friends: "Oh, hey, we're not going Sunday, can you take our tickets?"

Me: "Sure, I can get my parents to come up to the game."

Conversation today:

Friends: "So, we might not be able to go the game on Sunday, but we asked a bunch of people to go so hopefully some of them will."

Me: "You told me last week I could have those tickets. My parents are planning on coming up and going to the game."

Friends: "Oh, well.... if no one else wants them you can have them."

Yes. This bothers me. A lot.

The "Taste Points" label on the necks of the Miller Lite bottles I bought yesterday -- here in Milwaukee -- displayed the point value as a red number 9 inside a blue circle. It couldn't have looked more like Cubs branding if they tried. I'm really really hoping that each point number is a different color and I just got unlucky with 9 ... otherwise, someone deserves to be fired. I know I won't be buying any more Miller Lite until I'm confident I won't be holding something resembling a Cubs jersey in my hand.

I bought a cheap Dell laptop 4 years ago. Over the past year or so, it has lost all ability to charge the battery, so I have to keep it plugged in to use it. If the AC adapter comes unplugged, the computer turns off right away, and it comes unplugged all the time. It has happened to me a couple times in the middle of either working on a project (luckily I save a lot) or playing a game, which does not automatically save. I want to buy a new laptop, but it's not in my finances right now. I am bugged by everything about this computer.

Obviously, this is a different brand, but the Apple Store says that I should expect about four years out of the removable battery that's in my 2008 MacBook Pro. My guess is that there's nothing wrong except for the battery's age.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

While I'm sure the battery needs replaced, I get two error messages when I boot up the computer. The first is before Windows loads, saying "AC adapter type cannot be determined. Please unplug it and plug it in again. Thanks!" Then, when Windows does load, I get a similar message, saying "AC adapter type cannot be determined. Your system will perform slower and your battery will not charge."

I have discovered 3 possible causes. 1) When I pack up my laptop, I wrap the cord around the power supply. Apparently, that can damage some wires in the cord, which can result in this error; 2) There is a pin in the middle of the AC adapter where I plug it into the computer. It may be broken; 3) the connections from the power supply to the motherboard are broken and need to be soldered.

2 of the 3 are easy fixes, but I don't want to purchase a new battery or AC adapter just to have the motherboard be bad. Batteries and adapters are not cheap, and I could put that money to a new computer.
