Charter calls me plenty, but I never answer. I get frequent missed calls from a 1-877 number that I Googled, and it came up as Charter. I know they want to sell me stuff.

I just called last week to reduce my services and the guy on the phone tried to get me to purchase new services. I told him flat out that I wanted to lower my bill, but then gave me this song and dance about how they offer local channels and I need them in case there is bad weather. I told him I get the internet and I have an antenna. That pretty much shut him up.

"... need them in case there is bad weather" ?? Tell them you have this newfangled invention called radio. It even works on batteries!

Stay on target. This weather bites. Rain and 50 degrees really gets to me after what seems like a few weeks in a row (I know, hyperbole).

I called them, and they said I had to set up an appointment. For what? The apartment is already wired for cable. I already have the box and service. Just turn it on and we're set. No, they wanted to set up an appointment for Tuesday afternoon between 4pm and 6pm. Well, I'm going to the game at 5pm, so I declined. They then offered a Thursday appointment. I still didn't understand why I would need to wait so long.?

This reminded me of this from my favorite comedian, Brian Regan:

Two hours after our cable install happened, JaDerHeyski got a phone call. It was TWC. They saw that we were interested in their internet services and wanted to call us back to see if we really wanted it. I think someone at TWC divided by zero. This was after the other five phone calls today to make sure we knew we had an appointment today.

On good news: I have TV and internet (including Netflix) back! Not bugging me any more!

Edit:
The PlayStation Network is down? That means no Netflix. Change me back to bugged again.

The PlayStation hack would be worthy of a new topic if someone wants to start one. This looks to be huge.

Charter gave us a "deal" two months ago to reduce our bill by about $20(basically giving us showtime for free), they didn't take the cost off last month, so the wife called. They apologized and said it would be fixed. The bill for this month came today..........Still not off. I gotta call tomorrow and i am PISSED right now.

Go to your local Charter office, they will take care of it and give you a better deal. I bargained for 30 minutes on the phone, got a decent deal, and my wife stopped by the office to pick up a DVR box...they laughed at the phone people and knocked $20 a month off. Said they could give us every single premium channel if she wanted to pay what I agreed to...she declined and took the savings.

Petty much had the same experience with Yahoo/ATT/SBC Global or whatever the hell they are now. They kept adding on service charges, we kept calling them on it and every time we called they tried to sell us more services. We pretty much told them to f' off and dropped their service for Time Warner. Unfortunately all the cable/phone companies are basically the same and I pretty much expect the same thing from T.W.

Not that I care much anymore because there are much better outlets for sports news and quality writing, but why does ESPN continue to feel like their information is so much better than everyone elses that they continue to charge for Insider? ESPN is generally the last site I visit for info or just for an interesting read and claiming something to be "Insider" info that I can just go read somewhere else just seems like really poor marketing. I just went over there to read some draft coverage opinion and off course anything written by Kiper is in Insider. Fine I can get other people's opinions elsewhere for free and likely better written and more thought out.

Buying single game tickets on the Brewers website. Am I an idiot, or is there really know way to choose your specific seat or even section? I usually deal with my season ticket rep, but this morning I felt spontaneous so I jumped on the site and was really frustrated that I had no choices. When I book tickets on an airline I can choose my exact seat, but on brewers.com I can't even specify that my seats be on the third base line instead of the first base line? I feel like I'm missing something....?

I think it's more like they're missing something.

Another limitation for online ticket purchases is that the system can only look for X number of seats in the same row. If I want to bring a group of 12, I'd rather seek out 2 adjacent rows with 6 or 3 with 4 seats so the whole group can interact. Not being a programmer, I can accept that my desired search might be too particular to build into the software, but a first vs. third base side preference (as valpo suggests) doesn't sound impossible to program.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

Well, I will say that when buying Bucks tickets, you can pick out the exact seat that you want. It will even zoom in and show you what specific seats are available. I don't see any reason why a similar program couldn't be used when buying Brewers tickets.

This is something that annoys me as well. I think this is more of an MLB issues, than a Brewers issue (I beleive all MLB team sites sell tickets the same way...correct?). Perhaps if enough people send emails commenting about this (and the one row vs. several rows thing), they will make some changes.

it bugs me that the two closest casinos to me (i'm in Texas) are both 4.5 hours away, meaning they're too far for me to make a day-trip out of it. gas and a hotel take too much profit out of it to be worthwhile, and i can't stand online gambling.

Hat sizing. I wear fitted hats. I just like them. I do not wear them with a flat brim and the sticker still on.

I wear a 7 1/4 size hat. New Era, unbeknownst to me, their 7 1/4 hat is actually like a size 7. They aren't just tight. They are "I can't even fit this on my head" tight.

I ordered mine online, because of a sale, and when I called them to complain, they said I was [language edited by mod], because I took (and tossed) the stickers off of the hats once I got them.
