What's bugging you? (2011)

We found our dream home. We have 10 plus years of making mortgage payments on time with zero late payments. Because of the market we have next to no equity. We had credit cards, paid them off so that now we have no bills, we have no debt outside of the home. we have a credit score in the upper 700s. I make more money than I used to, my wife owns her own cleaning business and is making money with it. We can afford 2 mortgage payments if we had to do it for up to a year. Yet we cannot find a lender to give us a loan for this home. Thats whats bugging me today. Meanwhile people with no history of making payments, no history of financial responsibility are getting loans and can get the home we dream of. What happened to the American Dream?

Yet we cannot find a lender to give us a loan for this home. Thats whats bugging me today.

I was in about the about the same boat, but I have student debt and had 10% down. They wouldn't consider my wife's income (or 800 credit score) because her green card wasn't final yet (even though she had a SS#, was here legally, made about as much as I do, and we'd been married 2 weeks when I applied, but green cards take 6-7 months). Long story short, after providing every shred of information to prove that I am a real person, have a real job, have had real jobs for 5 years, AND SETTLED ALL OF THE COLLECTIONS AGAINST MY EX-WIFE which I had co-signed on but were assigned to her by court order when we divorced, we finally got there on the 6th lender, but it fell through 2 days before closing because nobody would give me mortgage insurance (no idea why). So I had to take out a "loan" from my dad which we called a gift to get to 20% down.

So then, this loan everyone was too timid to give me, was closed on Oct 22. I just got a letter in the mail today that it has been sold - FOR THE FIFTH TIME! Obviously, nobody was scared of my loan, so I have no idea why it was so hard to get.

People who actively root for bad things to happen to other people. I don't mean hoping the other team's fans go home unhappy, I mean looking forward to other people losing their jobs and the like. How morally bankrupt do you have to be to think that way?

Aracko, we recently refinanced through Quicken, and they were just incredibly efficient and quick. Try others, but make sure you give them a shot. Also, don't be ashamed to ask a family member or friend for help, if $10K cash makes a difference. Many folks would love to get 5% interest in today's market.

The man that sat near me at the bar at Applebee's in Menomonie, WI was about the most annoying person that I have ever been near. 500+ lbs, smacking his lips while eating (imagine a 2 year-old eating a lemon for their first tart experience), slurping his drink, burping, farting, coughing and sneezing without covering his mouth/nose and constantly commenting about everything on tv, at the tables around him, on his food, on his drinks...etc. I actually got up and moved from the bar to a table on the opposite side of the restaurant.

100% the most disgusting display that I have ever seen.

I saw Back to the Future II when it came out 20 years ago. I could have sworn that in the 80s diner scene, there was a part where Marty interracts with Max Headroom on a video screen at the counter. I believe Max was pimping some Pepsi product. But I watched the movie last night after getting the 25th Anniversary Trilogy for Christmas, and there were only Headroom-like versions of Michael Jackson, Ronald Reagan, and Ayatolah Whatshisnamey on video screens in the diner. Google research mostly alludes to the Headroom-like characters, but I did find a reference or two to Max himself being in the movie the way I remember.

I feel so sure that I saw Max in the movie back then, I'm going to assume he was editted out for some kind of litigious reason. Bugs me that I don't know the truth!

Whenever I leave the store down the road, I pass a sign that says "Crappie Minnows." Yes, I know what it means, but the first thing that pops into my mind is that there's something wrong with the minnows.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

This is the last year I buy Thinsulate gloves. Cheap pieces of crap!

You don't have an Adam Wainwright. Easily the best gentlemen in all of sports. You don't have the amount of real good old American men like the Cardinals do. Holliday, Wainwright, Skip, Berkman those 4 guys are incredible people

ESPN having the rights to the Rose Bowl and the National Championship game. The Rose Bowl wasn't as big of a deal because I was going to a party, but I picked up a six pack, a pizza, and planned on relaxing this evening with the biggest college game of the year and I can't watch it.

speaking of, cable tv itself bugs me. if we're already paying to watch television, then we shouldn't have to be subjected to commercials.

i'm paying about $90/mo for the Interwebs and basic cable, which is ridiculous. i wanted to add HBO so i could watch PPV boxing, but apparently i need a cable box for that. in all, it would have ended up being $130/mo for Interwebs and cable tv, so i declined.

To the independent contractor who hasn't brought in very much revenue in the past year: If you're wondering why you didn't get a Christmas bonus, look in the mirror. Chances are if you email me about it, you aren't going to get an answer you like.

TOSHIBA!! Dear Toshiba your customer service is beyond a joke. Charged full price for power adapters that WERE returned to you. Look, customer service lady, I can't control how fast the mail or your processing dept. enters information but just because your records say you didn't receive the USELESS pieces of crap that are still under warranty doesn't mean I didn't ship them back as soon as humanly possible. Oh, did I mention that YOU have the non-working adapters in your possession and since they don't work they're clearly not worth the $320 you charged us!!! Continually repeating that the "facts" of what's in your computer system on when you received a return doesn't make it correct. And me telling you that our business will no longer use Toshiba products if we aren't refunded the money isn't a threat (as you put it) it's also a "fact".

Turning your back on thousands of dollars a year for two power adapters that didn't work in the first place that you have in you possession doesn't seem like a good business practice to me.

Thanks to all who took the time read my rant. Anybody else have any experience dealing with Toshiba. Do I have any recourse here?

The NFL Playoffs. Only 4 teams are left, and they are 1, 5, 6, and 7 on my list of teams I hate.

You seriously have a ranked list of teams you hate? Who is 2-4?

My last 5 jersey/jersey-shirt purchases:

Cameron, Escobar, Cain, (both bought after the season) Jermichael Finley, Carlos Delfino, Brandon Jennings.

I'm seriously considering going out and buying a Lance Briggs or Jay Cutler shirt this week.

The ITT-Tech commercials that show guys talking about their successful lives - how they can support their families, play ball with the kids, pull into Mom's driveway on a motorcycle and give Mom a present...but they never explain what they do with their ITT Tech degree. You never see anyone working at their degree-fueled job.

Also bugging me: FSWisconsin's relentless need to show Yo's 2008 ACL injury at the drop of a hat.

just got finished watching the new episode of "Chuck." Nothing about the story, action, or comedy bugged me. But the little things they just can't get right.

Case in point: Chuck and Sarah, on a balcony overlooking the French countryside, watching the sun set over the horizon in front of them. A few hours later, they are on the same balcony, overlooking the same French countryside. But this time watching the FULL MOON rising over this exact same horizon! C'mon, folks! That is impossible to occur!

Always bugs me when they can't get the moon right. Just ask my wife; I've been moaning for years about the Disney commercial with the mom & dad booking their Disney vacation on their computer as their kids are asleep and then suddenly being awoken by Disney characters and the pumpkin carriage outside their house. So what do you see in the sky? A waning sliver of a crescent moon . . . that in real life would only be seen as the sun is RISING in the morning!

Okay, enough lunar ranting.

EDIT: Hah! Right on cue, we're watching Hawaii Five-O and they air an updated version of the aforementioned Disney commercial. This time they ride in a pirate ship under a full moon. So, no lunar hijinx this time! Typical, though, that I'd rant on something from 2-3 years ago and then within an hour or so, I get put back in my place with their answer to my complaint. Wonder if my house is bugged . . . .
