What's bugging you? (2012)

JimH5
Speaking of grocery store parking lots, how about people who speed through their lanes like they're out on the highway, not paying attention if someone is trying to back out of their parking space? Invariably, these people will be jawing on their cell phone, and not afraid to lay on the horn if you dare pull out in front of them as they're turning a corner in the lot.

Being told that you will be called to tell you the result of a 2nd interview the same day...only to get no call. So, am I to assume that I did not get the position? I am so nervous regarding this call I can't sleep.

This might reveal my naivete, but I think if you were plainly told to expect a call on a particular day and that day passed with no call, it's perfectly fine to contact the would-be caller and ask if there was a delay.

Bugging me today...having to kick a longtime problem patron out of the library. Among the problems (plural) with this case was that my supervisor should never have given him a second chance. The dude is unstable, rude and the subject of his "research" is moderately creepy. He somehow convinced my supervisor to let him try again and promptly reverted to the same bad behavior.

We had a police officer deliver the news and escort him out, so I wasn't in direct contact, but getting our ducks in a row for this kind of thing is more time-consuming than you'd think.

My grocery store peeve is when people ahead of us in a checkout line leave their cart in the checkout aisle rather than move it to the end of the aisle when they leave. You're steering a full cart of groceries; I don't think you're physically incapable of moving an empty cart. Either we have to move it or the checker does. Lazy.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I have this irrational fear that Jerry Sandusky is going to get off on this; Casey Anthony style. Despite some pretty damning and painful testimonies I still have a bad feeling. I hope I am wrong. If this guy really didn't do those horrible things than I am the Pope.

The Cousin's pork sub commercial has been incredibly irritating to me while watching games recently.... all Cousin's commercials actually.

BTW: I'd be stunned if Sandusky walked on this, but if he did, he'd probably wish that he was in prison (no way would he ever be part of the general population).

I coach Middle School Baseball during the summer, I have been doing this for the past 3 years now since I was 19. So far I have gone

1st year: 2 Wins

2nd year: 6 Wins

3rd year: 8 Wins

Obviously winning isn't everything but, we have gotten better every year since I took over. Obviously we have had talented kids come along but so far this year we are 2-7. We have had 5 one run games and are 2-3 in them. Tonight we were up 10-2 in the final inning and ended up giving up 13 runs all with 1 out. Needless to say its frustrating.

I do feel better now though.

A flight from Minneapolis to Seattle next to "Body Odor Guy"....that was awful.

when i was coming home from the Appalachian Trail, i'd washed my clothes and showered a few times, but the counter-people still almost didn't let me on the plane because of my body odor (it truly gets down in your skin and takes a couple weeks to go away). "Sir, um, you have a very noticeable odor, and we really can't let you on the plane like this." i told them it was one of the shirts i had on and they let me on the plane, but it was a lie. felt kinda bad for the guy next to me, because i knew i stunk real bad.

This might deserve it's own thread, but UWM has made the amazing decision to move all their games to the 3400 seat Klotsche center on campus.

Being an alum, this means 1) I probably won't attend any games, and 2) there is no way this can possibly help with recruiting.

My wife doesn't know what, "don't tell anyone" means. She has gotten me into a lot of trouble recently.

I have found that most women do not know what this means.

If telling your wife something is getting you in trouble down the line, perhaps you should also review the definition of "don't tell anyone." ;)

If I had a nickel for every time I heard, "It used to work. . . but I didn't change anything," I'd be able to retire from IT.

IT people who insist I must have changed something, when I know I didn't. :)

Watching the fireworks tonight on channel 12, they keep showing captions of "marcus ampitheater". The blatant misspelling actually bugged me enough to send them an email reminding them that we weren't the deep south and should have enough pride to not make basic spelling errors like uneducated idiots.

That's really bad. I'd have been tempted to call during the program in hopes of getting someone to make an immediate correction.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

Being called out at 3am because someone's hover-round battery died and their fridge was stuck open and they didnt want their food to spoil. Oh and Carly Ray Jeppeson - Call me Maybe. My crew loves to play that song because they know it grinds my gears.

When people say "I could care less" when they really mean "I couldn't care less."

This bugs the heck out of me too to the point where I'm always a jerk about it and responding with, "So you care then," and always getting a confused reply in return.

While on the subject of grammar, my other two huge pet peeves are people incorrectly using "good" instead of "well" and "borrow" instead of "lend." No, I can't borrow you a dollar, I'd be willing to lend you one if you could actually ask me correctly.

The heat. The damn heat. I live with two other professionals in their early 30's and for some reason we do not own an air conditioner. It is absolutely brutal.

driving home on the final day of your three week honeymoon, and getting a text message from the person watching your cats/taking in mail informing you that your home was burglarized. a laptop and my bike were stolen....most other stuff is replaceable, not my custom bmx bike, and my wife had most of her stuff backed up, but not all of it. many important photos, gone.
