Voice of the Helena Brewers Steve Wendt is back on board, and this year he's added Twitter to the mix @steve_wendt. We've been treated to Steve's work for many years now (ten!); he is among the very best at the art of the pre-game interview, especially considering how at ease he makes all these first-time professional ballplayers.

Final: Helena 6, @Billings 5

Helena box score

The Mustangs made it dramatic with two runs in the bottom of the 9th, but the Brewers held on.

Nathan Orf was the star with four hits in five at-bats from the leadoff spot. Montee Ball hopes to make it big in Denver this season, but Orf's beaten him to the punch in terms of professional breakouts by Wentzville, MO natives: .313/.452/.420 ain't too shabby. Charlie Markson backed him up with three hits, including two doubles, in the two-hole, and Adam Giacalone went deep for the 5th time. Michael Ratterree had a rare tough night with a golden sombrero.

Barrett Astin turned in a really nice start, four hitless innings with a 4/1 K/BB. Taylor Williams followed and allowed three runs in three innings, and the two 9th-inning runs came off Estevenson Encarnacion (who earned a hold for his contributions) before Juan Santiago locked things down.
