OK, I'll bite....

"We're sitting here, and I'm supposed to be a Milwaukee Brewer, and we're talking about practice. I mean listen, we're sitting here talking about practice, not a game, not a game, not a game, but we're talking about practice. Not the game that I go out there and die for and play every game like it's my last but we're talking about practice man. How silly is that? ... Now I know that I'm supposed to lead by example and all that but I'm not shoving that aside like it don't mean anything. I know it's important, I honestly do but we're talking about practice. We're talking about practice man. We're talking about practice. We're talking about practice. We're not talking about the game. We're talking about practice. When you come to Miller Park, and you see me play, you've seen me play right, you've seen me give everything I've got, but we're talking about practice right now. ... Hey I hear you, it's funny to me too, hey it's strange to me too but we're talking about practice man, we're not even talking about the game, when it actually matters, we're talking about practice ... How the hell can I make my teammates better by practicing?"

I don't know that they would get swept, but given how they are playing recently, and looking at the recent record, they would probably lose in four or five games (I know, not much consolation).

I wonder if this team is mentally fatigued or feeling the pressure of first place getting to them. I hate to think like that, but I'm just scratching my head at this point otherwise.

Will they finish above .500? Any sane person who watched the last three days would conclude, no. A five-run lead? Starters who can't pitch into the sixth. Middle relief that's about to turn into dust. All-star reliever whose slider has turned on him. Lack of situational hitting. A confused manager. Bah. I see this getting a lot worse before it gets better.

Having watched baseball for 20 years now I'd draw absolutely no conclusions about 3 days of play. The team could easily rip off a 20-10 stretch over the next 30 days, they could easily go 10-20 too. Baseball is just really streaky like that.

Oh I agree. Braun/Gallardo has been as good or even better than expected, Fielder has turned into the player we all hoped he would, Turnbow mostly turned things around, Hart looks like he has solidified into a solid every day OF, Shouse appears to have turned into a LRP and not just a LOOGY. Almost the entire rest of the team has been a let down on the season at this point. Hardy and Weeks looked good the first month and a half and have been just horrible since, the entire rotation has underperformed expectations, the bullpen has been a disaster. I'm as frustrated as anyone else, but there are plenty of reasons for hope as well. If some of these guys do turn the corner and start performing like we expected I still think we can go on a tear and take what is an extremely weak division.

You are correct on the 3 days sentiment, but this team has played like this the entire year on the road. I don't see them turning their road woes around mid-season.

I think that's a little generous to say weeks look good the first month. I personally don't think he's looked good at all this year. Besides the obvious hole at 2nd, we desperatly need to add a catcher who knows how to call a game and can hustle (yes i know catchers aren't going to be the fastest out there, but there's no excuse for basically crawling along the basepaths)

Maybe we are setting our sights and expectations too high. I'll just go ahead and hope that our lineup can muster more than 4 hits at Coors Field today, and our pitchers can hold the opposition to less than 8 runs, and be pleasantly surprised if they manage to do more than that.

I know it seems like years ago but Weeks had an .809 OPS on June 23rd with a .352 OBP, that is very good production from 2B, he was doing what everyone expected of him early in the season.

Well, so much for that.

Thanks, FSN, for not broadcasting today's baseball game.

Thanks, me, for not bothering to turn on the radio.

Thanks, Brewers, for not bothering to even drag this along. It will almost be a relief when the Cardinals regain control of the division, because it will mean we can all return to our normal lives.

Wearing my heart on my sleeve since birth. Hopefully, it's my only crime.

wanted to wait for my first post to be anything other than anger... but today that won't happen. I guess having one of the most talented teams in the league equals play like the worst... wonder if they weren't using the humidor those first couple and now are??

So I am officially the laughing stock of my family and friends who I tried to convince that this Brewers team, with all of our prospects, is different than Brewers teams of the past.

1) I told them that they have studs at every position in the infield when Ryan Braun came up.

2) I told them that our pitching staff has the makings of a top 5 staff in the NL.

3) I told them that this team is different in that they CAN win on the road, and you won't see a complete July-August fade.

4) I told them that the backend of the bullpen is much deeper than last year and can switch things up if one guy or two struggles.

5) I told them we don't have Grissom in center, Vanderwal in Right, and a injured Jenkins replacement in left, anymore.

6) I told them that we are above league average offensively at almost all offensive positions especially when Ryan Braun arrives.

7) I told them that all the young players have matured another year and that they are ready to run for the post season

8) I told them the 24-10 start was great, and this team was capable of at least playing .500 ball the rest of the way and could easily finish 88-74.

9) I told them that Ben Sheets isn't injury prone, but his back injury was one injury that spanned late one year and into the next and no injury would occur.

10). I told them that even with the struggles in May and recently, these players will get back to their career norms as to what is on the back of their baseball cards and a good run to the finish will happen.

Well who looks foolish now? This team is pitiful. I traveled to Cincinnati with my wife and two kids (2 and 8 months) for 4 games last month to watch this (expletive) play. Javier Valentin beating us two days in the series.... Bases loaded nobody out, no runs scored.....AAAA lineups trotted out there by Ned......Cordero blowing wins......Balfour doing what Balfour does.....

At least I can say, I was there to see Ned Yost and company jump on for the start of the rocket ship to mediocrity!!

One other thing I can say is I never said to any of my family and friends that Ned Yost is a great manager that will take this team to the playoffs. That could be my out!!! Trying to stay positive.

Brewerfan forever, but man this pennant race is not real rosey.

Yeah, I got burned by that one as well.
