I'm not real fond of Hart being moved so far down in the lineup.

As long as we are all venting, why is Bill Hall getting a free ride? He has suddenly become really boring this season. He hits so many lazy fly balls now. It's getting really dull.

He must be off the juice.

This division is a hot potato.

"YOU take it!"

"No, YOU can have it!"

In either case, something's gotta be done about Capuano. This streak is obviously in his head and, no matter which way you put it, is definitely affecting Capuano mentally. No matter what pitcher you throw out there, if your team loses 15 straight games in which you start, some huge amount of negativity is going to run through your head.

What about Seth McClung?

I'm angry the '82 team had to be present for this.

bah, if they were the REAL '82 team, they were probably too drunk up in the Gehl Club to notice. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif

So I've come to the conclusion that Parra is Capuano's personal long reliever. So you might as well start him because I don't think he'd give up 7 runs in 4.1 innings or whatever the hell Cappy gave up today. He's going to end up pitching at least 5 innings in Capuano's starts anyways so why not?

Amen to that. I know there's a trip to the DL thrown in there, but he hasn't hit a HR since June 23. If he doesn't get on his horse, he will wind up tied with Graffy (for crying out loud!) with 9 HR.

Where do I even start with this vent. Shocking that this team scores 3 in the first and takes the rest of the night off. Also as much as I love Braun as a hitter can the guy ever make a play on defense? As bad as Capuano has been he has also been very unlucky. Last night there were several routine ground ball singles and lousy defense from Braun and Weeks that didnt help Cappy either. I still like Weeks but can the guy ever get a hit. This division is an absolute joke and if we dont win it Melvin better clean house. Second or third place in this division is beyond unacceptable. Wake up guys and start playing some real baseball!!!!!!

Ned Yost should be beaten with a tack hammer if he even considers letting Crapuano make his next start.
If he puts Capuano in the bullpen it will be one of the better reasons I've seen to fire him.

So how long do we let this guy struggle? If Hardy needs to be in the 8-spot for three days, Crapuano certainly could benefit from a few days in the bullpen to work on his issues.

And he certainly has been very unlucky, too. I'm not denying that. But this is a pennant race. You can't afford inaction right now. While Suppan has shown signs of life at times, Cappy has been crappy pretty much since May.

We can't keep trotting out starters that aren't even getting through the fifth inning. Enough of this 4+ innings starts, constantly, garbage. Put someone like Parra in the rotation if you have to. Oh wait, he's already basically starting anyway with the innings he's pitching.

This is a bad situation right now, and I don't see how it gets turned around.

Vargas has been struggling just as much, has less of a track record and generally has more problems going deeper into games. If this team is going to have a shot at the playoffs it needs Capuano in that rotation and pitching better. Since May 28th Capuano has gone 7+ IP in 4 of 12 starts, while not stellar its better than you can expect out of Vargas. Last night he didn't pitch that poorly, his defense failed behind him pretty much.

Had you told me before the season that our rotation would be the biggest hole on this team, I'd have said you were nuts. Yet, here we are. They've been inconsistent at best, and have taken a huge toll on the bullpen. Unfortunatley, I think Melvin and Yost are left with few options but to continue sending Capuanao in particular out there and crossing their fingers. Just aren't many options at this point.

What is this great "track record" that Cappy has?! For a board that hates such small samples, are we seriously considering Cappy's 6 wins since last all star break a good "track record" He doesn't have it. Period. The man needs to go.

I agree, there is no track record here. He simply has fallen completely off and can barely pitch 5 innings anymore. Braun could have made a good play on that grounder, but how many times does the defense need to bail Chris out? Walking and hitting batters, giving up base hits when he is ahead in the count, and just plain ineffectiveness calls for a demotion. 15 straight starts the Brewers have lost when he starts, how many more do we need?

Since the 2006, All-Star break, Claudio Vargas is 14-9 with a 4.82 ERA. Chris Capuano is 6-18 with a 5.20 ERA.

Plus, Vargas is the fifth starter. Most teams would kill for a fifth starter who can at least get his team into the sixth inning pretty consistently. On the other hand, Capuano as a "third starter" or even a "fourth starter" is killing us, especially when there's at least the chance we could use a younger guy and upgrade the position.
