We have 2 games in hand. Those 2 represent the deficit. Tomorrow is the biggest game since 1982. Tomorrow is against a piece of garbage pitcher. This is one of the games we have in hand. WE HAVE TO WIN THIS GAME! Have to.

WISE? Really? Yost, you put in Wise?

Just unbelievable. Ned, you need to get to the next inning in order to have a chance to win the game. Odds are that Coco will give you a better chance to get to the next inning than Matt Wise will. It doesn't matter if you save Coco for the save situation, if there never is a save situation. Coco > rest of our bullpen. Matt Wise recently < Joe Winkelsas.

Bottom line Ned, you say you are managing every game like it's the last of the season, yet you let our best reliever rot in the bullpen. You did, however, have him warming up atleast. Granted, him and Bill Castro might have made that decision on their own, because it actually made sense.

It's not that we're trying to manage from our couches in the dugout Ned. The vast majority would agree that Coco even should have been in for the 9th. You had a chance to redeem yourself since we made it through the 9th by bringing him in for the 10th. Inexplicably, the commercials ended and I see Matt Wise on the mound. Then he walked a batter, I waited for you to go to the mound to get the old Wiser. It didn't happen.

We know we got Yosted. Your team knows they got Yosted. Coco and Wise know they got Yosted.

So what exactly was Ned Yost saving Cordero for? I just don't get it. Especially against the heart of their order.

Managers save their closers for when their team has a lead on the road. It's far from out of the ordinary. Its somewhat of an unwritten rule of managing. You can say that Yost is a moron for following this rule, but realize that quite a few managers are going disagree with you.

I'm kinda mellow on tequila and grapefruit soda right now...all I can do at the moment is shake my head and laugh at Ned's moves tonight.

Tomorrow though I'll probably be raging with the force of a hurricane. These were season-ending and job-losing moves tonight, folks.

This loss tonight was really huge. It's too late and the stakes are too high for this garbage.

From the IGT tonight, jrdave2304 wrote:

we really need some help from the Pirates, Marlins, and Reds "

We'd need to go 8-3 to win the division--if they go just 5-4.

If they go, say, 7-2 (entirely possible) we can only afford one--one!--more loss if we want to win it outright.

This is exactly what I came here to post. What happened to managing like there's no tomorrow, or whatever it was? Cordero had a day off, there's no way he wasn't available. Cordero absolutely should have been pitching the 9th inning. My only question was whether he stays in for the 10th or not.

More things I would rather do than see Ned Yost manage the Brewers for one more game...

- Go to the DMV

- Try to swallow a lightbulb

- Cover myself in honey, and be eaten alive by an army of fire ants

- Have somebody drop a bowling ball on my face

- Eat an entire bottle of aspirin

- Go to a Kevin Federline concert

- Put a live scorpion down my pants

- Drink nothing but toilet water for an entire month

- Step in a pile of dog crap while barefoot

- Become a vegetarian

- See Johnny Estrada wearing a European Speedo

Yost is one of the 10 worst managers in baseball and it most likely has cost us a playoff series, I just hope he is gone this year rather than next. It sucked that they gave Sherman a long enough leash that he completely destroyed our window for a super bowl with his horrible coaching and I hope they don't make the same mistake for the Brewers.

Yost is making mistakes that I wouldn't expect out of a first year manager and its just sad that we are probably going to lose our shot this year because of him.

Yep

I don't post much anymore, but tonights game and his refusal to use Cordero with the Stros 2-3-4 hitters due up drove me insane,i literally can't stand the site of Yost.I feel myself getting angry sometimes just when the camera pans on him.It really baffles me how a guy who has been in the game for so many years can make so many flat out poor choices.

How does this stuff happen with a manager in nearly his 5th year?Does Melvin ever watch these games and yell at the TV saying, what the hell are you doing Ned?Don't you know the season is on the line,it's not an exhibition game?

IF, they make it to the next inning...then who do you go to? Lose, Lose situation for Ned in my opinion. CoCo shuts em down..we do to the next inning THEN we lose... I have a feeling everyone would have said...why CoCo so soon? No chance to win for him.

You worry about that when Cordero can't pitch anymore. However if you keep trotting out Spurling, Stetter, Wise etc. without using your best option, you're going to get burned. Also what a lot of people seem to forget is you actually have to shut the other team down if you want to get to the save situation so why not go with your best pitcher to shut them down. One thing's for sure I'd feel much more comfortable with Spurling, Stetter, King, Aquino, Wise etc. in the game with a lead knowing we can give up at least one run and not lose than bringing them in with the game tied knowing if they give up a run the game is over with our best reliever still sitting in the bullpen.

Not me,i've begged for Yost to stop worrying so much about the silly save stat for awhile now.If Cordero was brought in to face the Astros best hitters and we then scored later, but say Capuano blew it in the bottom of the inning,i'd praise Yost for having at least put the team in the best situation to win,but it didn't work out.You had Berkman,Lee,and quite possibly Pence due up.I sure as hell would rather see Cordero vs those guys and if we scored the next inning, having Capuano/Wise or whoever he brought in to face the crappy bats that would follow to close the game.Instead he used Wise to face their best bats and hoped we scored in the 11th so Cordero could face their garbage hitters.

Explain the logic in that?Is worrying about a silly save stat above common sense in who should face who?

I don't think I've ever seen somebody complain about Ned using Cordero (or any other ace reliever) "too soon" in order to keep a game alive. Ever.

Can you imagine? "Oh man, now that we have a two run lead and Cordero's been used, who are we going to bring in for the save? I wish we would have just lost the game last inning instead of ending up in this predicament..."
