2007 Vent Thread, Part 8

This is just some emotional venting, but here it goes. I can't believe Braun had 3 errors in one game. He hits for avg., power, drives in runs, but can't play the field. Maybe I'll ask him to play on my bar league softball team. Fielder is not this years MVP. He may be in the future, but that ball he swung at on 3-1 just sucked. An MVP needs to get a hit in that situation. How fantastic that Thatcher pitched last night. Seeing how well he did really made that Linkbrink trade worth it. Did Melvin ever see Thatcher pitch or is Thatcher pitching out of his #@$? Was it the Brewers who landed in Milwaukee at 6 am after flying in from San Fran.? Maybe the Brewers should ask what kind of energy drinks the Fathers are drinking to get a supply of their own. I think Cordero should pitch the 7th, they can't get to him in the 9th anyway. Someone should tell the bullpen it is o.k. not to give up runs. STOP complaining about the booing. You are choking. I suggest that all the fans leave in the 5th inning instead, or maybe after the sausage race, at least someone wins that. I suggest that after one of bullpen members are getting pulled after giving up runs, everyone behind the home dugout turn their back on the player. How about that. At least the Brewers would have something else to complain about.

I appologize about he rant. I am a lifelong Brewers fan and they have not been in the playoffs since I was 4. This year started promising and ended in disappointment.

Not that it really matters at this point, but let's say your season is on the line and you have a choice between two pitchers to start the game, neither of them very good. However your team is 16-7 in games started by one guy (or something like that), while your team has lost 18 straight starts made by the other guy. Which guy do you choose? A no-brainer, right? How about starting anybody (=Parra) than the guy who has lost 18 in a row. Nah, he'll snap out of it! We've been hearing that since June. Pathetic*

Talk about loyal to a fault.....the season officially ends tonight. I desperately hope Attanasio does what most owners/management do in professional sports: give their public support for a guy only to can him a few weeks later.

They would have to spin it pretty significantly to make it seem that way. But, there is some value to what we have accomplished this year regardless.

And if 81-81 gets Ned fired, a lot of people here would consider that a successful finish.

But this is the vent thread, so I digress.

I find it funny that everybody (ESPN included) is saying the Brewers need a new manager. And the same week, he gets the dreaded vote of confidence.

I have a feeling he may the first manager fired. I don't get how they can be this flat every night. They seem to have no energy. How can this not be Ned's fault. These guys won at every level. They may not know how to win at the majors, but considering Yost coaching experience, you would think he would know. Thought he would be the perfect manager for this team. I was 100% wrong.

My vote is for Frank Kremblas.

Let me tell you what cheeses me off. The team just seemed to self-destruct since Fielder got plunked. Yost and McClung screw up. The team tanks it the next day. They suck tonight. I would not be surprised if they don't finish over .500 at all.

That's what I get for thinking they could pull it off at the beginning of the week. I'm so stupid.

On the other hand, it was a good year to get excited for awhile.

I'm gonna vent about the fact that my only good baseball caps are Brewers caps and I live in Chicago. It's not like I'm "afraid" to wear them now, but would rather just not subject myself to any stupid comments by SCrub fans over the next few weeks. I need to go to Lids.

There are no words in any language with which I am familiar that could possibly describe my anger, heartache, and frustration with this team. The best chance in my lifetime to secure a berth into the postseason, and it was wasted away through an arrogant sense of entitlement, lack of execution, and poor decision-making. I have no idea how I'll ever be able to forget 2007, the year of the miss.

This past few weeks has soured me on baseball in what is one of the most improbable finishing weekends in baseball history. The playoffs will probably be great, too, with nobody really having any idea who is going to come out of either league.

Next week, I'll be flipping through the channels. I'll come across a game, and no matter how exciting it is, there will be a hollow spot inside that will be filled only by anger and regret as I watch, until finally I have to turn it off. I don't want to feel that way, but I know I will.

Some people will say that the Brewers are to blame, but I know it's my own damn fault.

The worst Brewers' season ever.

I've said it a million times, but I'd have taken a 100+ loss season that we were never in over the way this one has played out. 2002 has nothing on this in terms of frustration, disgust, anger and sadness.

On the other hand, if this brutal "learning experience" means playoff runs and a World Series title in the next 3-4 years, I'll take it.

But right now I could vomit.
