Sounds like the recent years were pretty rough for him. Very sad, as he brought a lot of joy to Milwaukee.

Sad to hear about him dying. He'll always be "the Dream" to a certain generation of Milwaukeeans. A couple years ago I was talking with an older guy about basketball and I mentioned "the Dream" (meaning Hakeem Olajuwon) and he was like, "oh yeah, Dean Meminger!"

 

Wow, I just saw in the JS's obituary for Dean that Marquette was undefeated at the Milwaukee Arena during his playing career (46-0). Not bad.
