Helena Independent Record notes on the road game --

On Saturday, a half-dozen Brewers had multi-hit games in a series-opening win at Great Falls.

On Sunday, however, Helena managed just five total hits and found itself on the wrong end of a 13-2 blowout. The loss drops Helena to 2-3 in the second half of the season, while Great Falls improves to 4-1.

It was a rough one from the start for the Brewers, who found themselves trailing 4-0 after just one inning of play. Starter Anthony Banda (1-4) took the brunt of the Voyagers’ assault, lasting just 2/3 an inning while giving up four runs on three hits and walking two.

Ryan Fasano came in for early relief and calmed things down a bit — giving up a lone run in the second inning on a Jacob Morris homer — and Helena got on the board in the third to get back in the game.

Jose Pena opened the inning with a single and Angel Ortega reached base on a Tyler Shryock error at short. Jalen Harris, then, also reached on a Shryock error to load the bases.

Omar Garcia was out on the infield fly rule, but a Nathan Orf single to left scored Pena and Ortega. The promising frame ended, though, with a Michael Ratterree pop-out and and Adam Giacalone ground-out.

And the Brewers never got any closer. Great Falls got those two runs back in the fourth, added another in the fifth and then put the game away with a five-run eighth.

The teams will meet again today in a 7:00 PM contest (8:00 Central). Danny Keller (0-1) is projected to start for Helena, while David Haselden (4-3) is expected to start for the Voyagers.

I saw the Roache HR in person. It was absolutely crushed!!!! The only other player I have seen clear the score board at Time Warner Stadium was Prince Fielder when he was with the Snappers...

So impressive to see a ball off the bat like that when you 100% know on contact it is gone, a no-doubter.

Goosebumps I tell ya!
