I'm trying to decide, is this better or worse than last Sunday's lineup? Sigh.

Axford being Axford. He's great in mop up, when there's no pressure. But when he's called on to keep us in a game, he's just terrible. From a 3-1 lead in the top of the sixth to a 5-6 deficit in the bottom of the eighth. Joy.

It's up to Rickie Weeks, who's 0-4 with 2 K's today. Can he tie it up?

Thanks, Axford! Thanks for nothing!

Trade him. I'd take a box of Oreo cookies for him.

Its good to know that Axford is still as worthless as ever.

Well...that is simply...wait for it.......not true.

4 earned runs in July in 12 or so appearances, and 0 in June. Is the axford hate fully deserved?

That's what a quick search yielded anyways.

Not really very good. 12 appearances that resulted in 9 1/3 innings of work, 10 hits, 4 runs, and 166 pitches. 2 blown saves. A guy who is supposed to make a living on strikeouts with 7 strikeouts for the entire month. If K-Rod put up those kind of stats, nobody would have traded for him. Unfortunately, Axford apologists such as those on TMJ4, tend to exaggerate every scoreless outing he has and minimize every blown game he produces.

Says the guy who was defending Betancourt earlier.

And how bad did Betancourt do today? 2 for 4, 2 RBI

So positive or negative play for one game is how you form your opinions about players? Must make for a long season....

Apparently, someone defending Betancourt good play lately somehow excuses Axford's season long struggles.

No one play or one game defines how unreliable and disappointing Axford has been. Even in this game alone he gave up 3 hits, 2 runs, a wild pitch, and only recorded 1 out. This is far from the first time we've seen Axford lose games for us this season
