With a guy on second, why does Roenicke still have Gorzelanny in after four hits and a walk? Trying to give the Padres another run?

I'm no real RRR fan, but the win-loss record makes complaining about something like this pretty frivolous. I guess my shorter response would be, 'Who cares at this point?'

True, but it would be nice if our manager cared...

There are still a lot of fans paying good money to support this team, we should still expect maximum effort, even from our lameduck manager.

Well I have zero problem with leaving a pitcher that you are theoretically showcasing for other teams out there longer. It's not like one blah appearance is going to scare anyone off. Gorzelanny has looked downright stellar in his recent starts. As long as he doesn't fall apart mechanically, the Brewers should be able to flip him.

Picking on Roenicke for not caring is really missing the point imo. He obviously cares, but at this point in the season the priorities have changed. It's not time to micromanage to scrape out three more wins on the season to go from 67 to 70 wins on the season or whatever.

Anyone hear what Uke had to say about Braun?

I did find it kind of ironic that the WTMJ pregame intro was Uke calling a Braun HR...

I noticed the same last night. It made me wonder how soon that'll be edited out.

Along that line, I will be watching to see what (if any) changes the Brewers make to their stadium signage, highlight clips, etc. They'd remove all traces for a guy who was traded, but Ryan's not totally *gone* from the franchise. They probably wouldn't remove all traces for someone who is out for the season due to injury. Maybe they could conclude that RYAN BRAUN'S MORALS/VALUE SYSTEM ARE INJURED.

(I didn't say that to be incendiary; it's just my reaction to the tidal wave of anger/hatred/general ill will washing over Ryan, and by association the Brewers' organization and fan base.)

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

If Braun can't save his reputation, the Brewers will likely have to remove all traces of him (Barry Bonds style) from Miller Park whenever he retires/leaves the team. Right now it's just kind of an awkward situation.

Meanwhile, another lackluster performance tonight.
