Reminder: Futures Game is today at 1:00 PM CT on ESPN2 / MLB.com.

John Sickels wrote an article covering seven players that should have been on this year's Futures Game rosters. I think we can all agree on at least one of his chosen omissions.

How I (John Sickels) would change the 2013 MLB All Star Futures Game rosters

Tyrone Taylor, OF, Milwaukee Brewers; A second round pick in 2012, Taylor is having a really good season in the Midwest League (.301.368/.462, 15 steals) and has the tools and athleticism to continue this at higher levels. He's younger and has a considerably better track record at this point than the more famous Nimmo, who he'll replace on the roster for me.

And there you have it -- the first big propect tracker to pick up on Taylor. I think Taylor's prospect status is going to spread like wildfire the rest of the way this season, just like 'Jean Segura can't stick at SS' did around the time of the Greinke trade.

Nelson topped out at 96 on the notorious fast ESPN gun and he wasn't exceedingly sharp missing to both sides of the plate. He only hit the glove once and both balls which were put in play were smoked. The first pitch he threw was a line out to Buxton in CF and Owings made a real nice pick on a short hopper which was the 2nd pitch to Lindor.

Captains score three in ninth to beat Wisconsin

Rattlers can't hold 3-1 lead; Lose 4-3 to Lake County

By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers

GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Lake County Captains scored three runs on four straight hits with one out in the top of the ninth inning to stun the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Sunday afternoon at Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium. The Captains rallied for a 4-3 win to spoil a terrific start by Wisconsin pitcher Jorge Lopez and even the three game series at a win for each team.

Wisconsin (39-49 overall, 10-13 second half) scored first. Victor Roache broke the scoreless tie with a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth. Roache's tenth home run of the season came off Lake County starter Robbie Aviles, who had allowed two hits through the first 4-1/3 innings.

Garrett Cooper followed the home run by Roache with a single. It was the first hit as a Rattler for Cooper, the 6th round pick of the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2013 draft who was playing in his second game with Wisconsin. Parker Berberet didn't let Cooper stay on base for long. Berberet launched a two-run home run to left and the Rattlers were up 3-0.

Lopez cruised through the first 6-1/3 innings as he allowed one hit and struck out four. Logan Vick doubled with one out in the top of the seventh. Jeremy Lucas singled Vick home with two outs to get Lake County their first run. Lopez got the final out of the frame and turned the game over to the bullpen.

Taylor Mangum gave up a pair of hits with one out in the top of the eighth, but kept Lake County (36-54, 13-10) from scoring. That was not the case in the ninth.

Joe Sever lined a home run to left with one out in the ninth to cut Wisconsin's lead to one run. Lucas followed with a single to left and was replaced by pinch runner Erik Gonzalez. Eric Haase was next and he doubled into the left field corner on a 3-2 pitch to drive in Gonzalez with the tying run. An error on the play allowed Haase to take third base as the go ahead run.

Mangum got ahead of Anthony Santander 1-2, but Santander sent a grounder up the first base line for a double. The Rattlers thought the ball was foul, but the call wasn't going to be overturned and the Captains had a 4-3 lead.

Max Walla singled with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, but Wisconsin could not stage a comeback.

Sunday was the first time the Timber Rattlers have lost when leading a game heading into the ninth inning. Wisconsin had been 27-0 in that situation prior to Sunday's loss.

The final game of the series is Monday afternoon at Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium. Johnny Hellweg is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers. Lake County taps Ryan Merritt (5-8, 3.62) as their scheduled starter. Game time is 12:05pm.

Monday is a Qdoba Q*Monday. Purchase a lunch entrée at either Qdoba location in Appleton and receive a free ticket to any Monday home game during the 2013 season. Plus, as a day game, The Rattlers, Baker Tilly, WVBO, & WNAM also present a bonus Businesspersons Special for this Monday matinee. Show your business card at the ticket window and receive a ticket for a box seat, your choice of beverage, and your choice of brat or hotdog for $11.50. This offer is also available to fans 55 & older.

Also, the Timber Rattlers invite members of their Silver Foxes Club to come out and participate in a Senior Stroll from 10:30am to 11:30am before the game. If you're not a member, you may join for free as long as you are aged 55 or older.

And the first 1,000 fans to attend the game will receive a poster of Timber Rattlers shortstop Orlando Arcia. This is poster number eight in a series of ten from Dunkin Donuts that have been given away during the 2013 season.

If you can't make it out to the stadium, there are several ways to catch the action. Time Warner Cable SportsChannel has the television broadcast starting at noon. The radio broadcast is on AM1280, WNAM or IHeartRadio starting with the Miller Lite Pregame Show at 11:45am. Monday's game is also available to subscribers of MiLB.TV.

Wisconsin Boxscore

This game was an incredible let down.

Jorge Lopez continues his slow and steady climb towards respectability, his season ERA is down to 5.43. Nothing about his stat line is going to jump out other than just 3 hits and the 1 ER, but he did have the good curve ball today.

Taylor Mangum who was coming off the best outing his career got tuned up, giving up 6 hits including 2 doubles and a homer which led to 3 runs.

Victor Roache continues to struggle in the OF adding 2 more errors, though he misplayed more balls than that, however as mentioned above Victor did hit another HR.

Wisconsin managed to collect 6 hits, no T-Rat had a multi-hit game, both Michael Reed and Tyrone Taylor were caught stealing.

Wisconsin Recap

The awful 9th, in case you missed it above the Rattlers thought Santander's double was foul.

Lake County Top of the 9th

  • Logan Vick flies out to center fielder Tyrone Taylor.
Joseph Sever homers (4) on a fly ball to left field.
Jeremy Lucas singles on a line drive to left fielder Victor Roache.
With Eric Haase batting, wild pitch by Taylor Mangum, Jeremy Lucas to 2nd.
Offensive Substitution: Pinch-runner Erik Gonzalez replaces Jeremy Lucas.
Eric Haase doubles (16) on a line drive to left fielder Victor Roache. Erik Gonzalez scores. Eric Haase advances to 3rd, on a fielding error by left fielder Victor Roache.
Anthony Santander doubles (13) on a ground ball to right fielder Michael Reed. Eric Haase scores.
Jorge Martinez lines out to left fielder Victor Roache.
Yhoxian Medina pops out to catcher Parker Berberet in foul territory.

Eighth Inning Rally Gives Helena Win

Orf's hit by pitch ends up being the difference

By Zac Vierra / Helena Brewers

In a game where the Brewers executed a perfect hit and run and a beautiful squeeze play, it was a hit by pitch that put them over the top.

With two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the eighth and the score tied at three, Nathan Orf was hit by the first pitch he saw from James Baune to give Helena a 4-3 lead.

Michael Turay would follow by hitting a Texas League to center that dropped in to score a pair and Andy Hillis would finish the game in the ninth as Orf's RBI on the hit by pitch was the difference in 6-3 win over Ogden.

It made sense that Orf (photo below) would be the one to snap a three game losing streak by taking one for the team. During his junior year with Baylor in 2012, Orf was hit by a pitch 35 times. It was the second time this season that Orf was hit and it gave his team a win.

"The guys played well and that's all that matters anyway. They came out and they played the full 27 outs, you know you get that kind of effort out of them and good things can happen so Orf getting hit, driving in a run, then you have a base hit that scores two more insurance runs, that's good," said Helena manager Tony Diggs.

Before the unorthodox way to win the game in the eighth, the Brewers had put themselves ahead with some great situational baseball.

With Helena up 1-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Jesse Weiss would lead off the frame by scorching a single to left. After a strikeout, the Brewers would put on the hit and run play and it would be executed perfectly as Weiss was off with the pitch and Orf slapped a single in spot that was vacated by the second baseman.

With runners on the corners, Diggs decided to put on another play. This time it was the squeeze and with Weiss breaking home, Turay laid down a perfect bunt to score the runner.

"Turay can handle the bat and that's what you look for in that situation like that," said Diggs. "Their pitcher throws a lot of strikes so it puts you in position where you know the ball is going to be around the plate so you know you can squeeze if you choose to. It just worked out for us it was a great play."

"It's good when things work out that way you look like a genius but when they don't work out you look like an idiot so it worked out well and the guys executed on each one of them and that's all that matters," added Diggs.

Orf would later advance to third on a wild pitch and the Brewers would pick up their second run of the inning when Renaldo Jenkins hit a liner into left for an RBI single.

To that point in the game three runs looked huge as a pitcher's dual had ensued between Victor Araujo and Eduard Reyes.

Reyes had a spectacular outing for Helena allowing just one hit in five shutout innings while striking out a season-high eight batters. Reyes struck out the side in the third a string of four batters retired by way of the K.

"Reyes did a good job of going after hitters, he kept them off balance enough with pitches either in the zone or out of the zone and hats off to him," said Diggs.

When Reyes was replaced by Brandon Moore in the sixth, Ogden came back without the benefit of an RBI

With one out, Moore walked a batter and then hit a batter to put two on. Valdez would then hit a single to right and the ball got by Dionis Hinojosa in left as Gerson Nunez scored and Pat Stover advanced to third on the error.

Stover would then come home with Ogden's second run when Moore threw a wild pitch.

It looked like Moore would get out of the jam when Jacob Scavuzzo hit a groundball to short, but Jenkins' throw was off the mark and Valdez came around to tie the game.

The game would stay tied until Helena pulled away in the eighth.

The final game of the series will take place on Monday night as the Brewers try to end the seven game homestand on a winning note.

Peavy, Homers Silence Stars

By Alex Cohen / Huntsville Stars

To wrap up their five-game series at Joe Davis Stadium, the Huntsville Stars fell to the Birmingham Barons by a score of 5-1 on Sunday.

Highlighting the ballgame was a Major League rehab start for the Barons from starting pitcher Jake Peavy. The former NL Cy Young Award winner threw five innings, giving up just one run on five hits while striking out four batters en route to his first win in the Southern League since 2002. Peavy is rehabbing from a fractured rib that he suffered on June 5th.

Birmingham ensured the victory for Peavy when three relievers combined to shutout and no-hit the Stars bats through the final four innings of the game. Righty Salavdor Sanchez tossed two frames while Kevin Vance and Taylor Thompson sent down the Huntsville offense in order during the eighth and ninth innings respectively.

On offense, the Stars only run came on a two-out rally in the third inning off of Peavy. After a single from outfielder Chadwin Stang, second baseman Nick Shaw lined a double down the right-field line to score Stang all the way from first.

The Barons got all the offense they needed in the second inning against Stars starting pitcher Andy Moye. Following a leadoff walk from first baseman Dan Black, outfielder Jared Mitchell lofted a two-run homer over the right-field wall to put the Barons on the board.

In the fourth inning, the Barons continued that momentum as designated hitter Brandon Short hit a solo homer of his own and third basemen David Herdek ripped an RBI single to make the score 4-1.

For insurance purposes, the Barons tacked on another run in the eighth inning on a solo homer by Black against Stars reliever Arcenio Leon.

With the loss, Moye fell to 4-10 on the year, giving up four runs on five hits in four innings while striking out and walking three batters each.

In a losing effort, Shaw paced the offensive attack with two hits, while Stang, third basemen Shea Vucinich and first baseman Mike Walker chipped in with one hit each.

The season-series between the Stars and Barons is now finished, in which the Barons won each of the four series and 14 of the 20 games overall.

On Thursday, Stars will continue their second-half schedule after the Southern League All-Star game with the opener of a five-game set against the Pensacola BlueWahoos at Pensacola BayFront Stadium.

Final: @Helena 6, Ogden 3

Helena box score

In a game of threes, Helena took a 3-0 lead into the 6th, Ogden scored three to tie it, and the Brewers secured the final margin of victory with a three-run 8th. Starter Eduard Reyes continues to pitch effectively, here allowing just a hit and two walks in five scoreless frames while fanning eight. This was his best game of the year on a peripherals basis; overall he now owns a 19/8 K/BB in 20.2 innings this year, which is good but not great, and he'll also be 23 in a month. Steady Andy Hillis worked the final two innings and has still not allowed run through seven professional appearances.

Another balanced attack from the offense, which means there aren't a lot of individual performances that really jump off the page; Dionis Hinojosa was the only Brewer with a multi-hit game and also had their only extra-base hit, a double. Adam Giacalone, in his first game since being demoted from Wisconsin, was 1-4. Not sure what's going on with Ruben Ozuna, but the former breakout star (at least as far as this forum is concerned) seems to have been marginalized. He pinch-ran for Giacalone today and has just five starts under his belt this year.

Jose Pena drew two walks but also struck out twice. Over his last ten games he's become quite the two-true-outcomes hitter, with six free passes and 12 whiffs. If his doubles were going for homers he'd be positively Branyanesque. Joining Pena in boring the defense today was Taylor Brennan, who walked once while fanning thrice. On the season, those two would-be sluggers have punched out 46 times in 141 at-bats.

Helena play-by-play

Nathan Orf drove in the go-ahead run the hard way:

Helena Bottom of the 8th

  • Dionis Hinojosa flies out to right fielder Joey Curletta.
  • Adam Giacalone singles on a ground ball to center fielder Gerson Nunez.
  • Taylor Brennan walks. Adam Giacalone to 2nd.
  • Pitching Change: James Baune replaces Thomas Taylor.
  • Offensive Substitution: Pinch-runner Ruben Ozuna replaces Adam Giacalone.
  • Jesse Weiss grounds out to first baseman Jesus Valdez. Ruben Ozuna to 3rd. Taylor Brennan to 2nd.
  • Jose Pena walks.
  • Nathan Orf hit by pitch. Ruben Ozuna scores. Taylor Brennan to 3rd. Jose Pena to 2nd.
  • Michael Turay singles on a fly ball to center fielder Gerson Nunez. Taylor Brennan scores. Jose Pena scores. Nathan Orf to 3rd. Michael Turay to 2nd on the throw.
  • Renaldo Jenkins flies out to center fielder Gerson Nunez.

Final: Brevard County 5, Palm Beach 3

Brevard rallies for fifth straight win

'Tees score two in seventh to top Cards, 5-3

By Frank Longobardo / Brevard County Manatees

http://www.milb.com/assets/images/1/2/0/51065120/cuts/Mittelstaedt_6.18_2_sanfg9gu_62kyd5ev.JPG

Manatees right fielder T.J. Mittelstaedt, seen here in a game from earlier this season, went 2-for-4 with a double and a home run in Brevard County's 5-3 win over the Palm Beach Cardinals on Sunday afternoon at Roger Dean Stadium. (Dennis Greenblatt/Hawk-Eye Sports Photography)

JUPITER, Fla. - The Brevard County Manatees scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning, en route to their season-high fifth straight win, as they defeated the Palm Beach Cardinals 5-3 on Sunday afternoon at Roger Dean Stadium in the first game of a scheduled doubleheader.

The second game of Sunday's doubleheader was postponed due to rain and will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Monday, beginning at 5:05 p.m. The Manatees (13-8 second half, 50-38 overall) and the Cardinals (13-9, 42-48) will play two seven-inning games.

With the score tied 3-3 after six innings and two outs in the top of the seventh, Brandon Macias started the rally as he reached base on a hit by pitch. T.J. Mittelstaedt then stepped up and doubled down the right field line to bring Macias home, as Mittelstaedt advanced to third on the throw in from the outfield.

Yadiel Rivera then kept things going as he singled through the right side to plate Mittelstaedt for his first hit of the night.

Tyler Cravy, who was in his second inning of relief, pitched around two walks in the bottom of the inning to pick up his third win of the season.

The Cardinals scored the first run of the game off of Brevard County starting pitcher Jed Bradley (4-3, 4.30 ERA), who was making his first start since June 22. Anthony Garcia led off the second inning with a single to center and then stole second base. Danny Stienstra would then drive in Garcia with a single to left to make it a 1-0 game, but that would be all that Palm Beach would get in the inning.

Brevard County's bats woke up in the top of the fourth when with two outs, Mitch Haniger tripled to right field. Nick Ramirez then followed with his 18th homer of the season to give the 'Tees a 2-1 lead.

Ramirez has now driven in a run in his last five games and is now one home run away from tying the Brevard County single-season home run record of 19, set by Hunter Morris in 2011.

The Manatees added to their lead in the top of the sixth when Mittelstaedt launched a home run to right to lead off the frame. Mittelstaedt, along with Haniger, went 2-for-4 on the day.

Bradley came back out to work the bottom of the sixth but ran into trouble right away as he allowed consecutive doubles to David Popkins and Starlin Rodriguez, with Starlin Rodriguez's double bringing home Popkins and making it a one-run game.

Jonathan Rodriguez followed with an RBI single to tie the game and end Bradley's day. Bradley finished by going five-plus innings and allowing three runs on seven hits, while walking one and striking out three.

Cravy came on and the 'Tees were able to get out of trouble as catcher Rafael Neda picked off Jonathan Rodriguez at first base. He then forced Garcia to fly out to center and Stienstra to pop out to first to end the inning.

Brevard County and Palm Beach will close out their four-game series with a doubleheader on Monday that is set to begin at 5:05 p.m.

Southpaw Brent Suter (7-5, 3.01) is scheduled to start game one for the Manatees, while the Cardinals will counter with their own lefty Kyle Hald (5-6, 4.89). In game two, Jacob Barnes (6-2, 3.49) is slated to toe the rubber for the 'Tees and another lefty will get the ball for the Cards as Ryan Sherriff (2-2, 4.00) is set to take the mound.

With the short start, the Stars bullpen was called on to soak up 5 innings today. Righty Eric Marzec was first up. NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Nashville Sounds lost 3-2 to the Memphis Redbird Sunday night at Greer Stadium, in the deciding contest of the 16-game season series.

The loss gives the Redbirds their first Tennessee Lottery I-40 Cup Series Championship, winning the season series versus the Sounds nine games to seven. The Sounds entered the year as defending champs and would have retained the cup with a series split.

With two-outs in the top of the sixth inning, the Redbirds touched Sounds starting pitcher Chris Narveson (2-6) for two run-scoring singles to take the 3-2 lead. Chad Huffman hit a single to centerfield to tie the game and Audry Perez followed with the go-ahead knock, his first Triple-A hit, which proved to be the game winner.

Narverson was charged with the loss, his sixth, allowing Memphis three runs on seven hits and one walk over six innings of work. The lefty fanned four Redbirds before reliever Michael Olmsted entered to pitch a hitless seventh inning, fanning two. Both Zach Kroenke and Rob Wooten worked scoreless innings for Nashville.

Offensively, the Sounds got on the board first via Cole Garner's infield single, which scored catcher Robinzon Diaz in the second inning.

Memphis outfielder Adron Chambers leveled the game in the fourth inning with a solo home run to right field. It is the eight Triple-A home run allowed by Narveson this season.

Tied 1-1 in the home half of the fifth inning, Narverson helped his cause by driving a double off the left-field wall to lead off for the Sounds. Josh Prince moved Narveson over to third with a sac-bunt; then with runners on the corners, Scooter Gennett legged out what would have been an inning-ending double-play, which allowed Narveson to score the go ahead run.

The call at first base was contested by Memphis manager Ron 'Pop' Warner, which promptly led to his ejection, delivered by D.J. Reyburn.

Picking up the win for Memphis was starter Scott McGregor (4-5), who held Nashville to two runs on five hits across seven innings. Reliever Michael Blazek picked up his second save with a spotless ninth.

The Sounds and will enjoy three league-wide off days to honor Triple-A's best players in the All-Star Game in Reno, Nevada. Closer Rob Wooten will represent the Sounds and the PCL in the game on Wednesday night. Nashville will resume play on July 18 in New Orleans against the Zephyrs (Marlins affiliate). RHP R.J. Seidel (1-4, 5.93) is scheduled to throw for Nashville against LHP Duane Below (5-3, 2.39).

Brewer Fanatic Staff

Mark McCarter's Huntsville Times article focusing on Jake Peavy's rehab start (link for full read) included this from Huntsville Manager Darnell Coles --

Watching from the other dugout, Coles, a 13-year big-leaguer, could appreciate the craftsmanship.

"He had a lot of movement. He reached back for a little extra when he needed to," Coles said. "Hey, he's a Cy Young winner. He's special. This is good for our guys to have a chance to see how a major league pitcher pitches you. He reaches back when he needs to. He gets his breaking ball over in breaking-ball counts. It was a teachable moment.

"He did exactly what he was supposed to, and that's dice us up," Coles said. "It was fun to watch. Not so much to be on the losing end of it, but fun to watch because you see how a big league guy works."

Brewers rally in eighth, snap three-game skid

by Troy Shockley, Helena Independent Record

Helena had things in control Sunday afternoon until a sixth-inning hiccup allowed Ogden right back in the game.

But the home team responded with a big inning of its own and pitcher Andy Hillis continued his late-game dominance, helping the Brewers snap a three-game losing skid with a 6-3 Pioneer League win.

“I felt like we’re a much better team than what we’ve played like for the last few nights, so it feels good,” said catcher Michael Turay, who played a key role in the win both at the plate and behind it.

Eduard Reyes got the start for the Brewers and was stellar through his five innings. He gave up just one hit and struck out eight, walking only two batters. Reyes’ performance kept Ogden (13-11) off the board, while Helena (13-11) managed to push an unearned run past his equally impressive counterpart Victor Araujo in the bottom of the first.

That run came courtesy of leadoff man Omar Garcia, who reached safely on an infield single and advanced to second on a balk. Dionis Hinojosa then lined a chopper to Jesus Valdez, who bobbled the ball and then rushed a throw to first that sailed high to allow Garcia to trot home.

That’s where the score remained until the fifth, when Turay came to bat with runners on the corners and one out. The call from manager Tony Diggs: a suicide squeeze.

“The only thing going through my head was just to get the ball down,” Turay said. “I just didn’t want to miss it, and I was hoping for a good pitch.”

The call and execution worked perfectly, driving in Jesse Weiss and advancing Nathan Orf to second. He went to third on a wild pitch and, when Renaldo Jenkins laced a single to left, it was a 3-0 Brewers lead.

“It’s good when things work out; that way you look like a genius,” Diggs said of his call. “But when they don’t work out, you look like an idiot. So, it worked out well, and the guys executed … that’s all that matters.”

Ogden continued to battle and found a crack in the sixth.

With reliever Brandon Moore on the mound, a walk and a hit and error gave the Raptors their first run of the game. A wild pitch gave them another, and the contest was tied after a second error.

Moore found his groove, though, and got out of the inning and shut Ogden down in the seventh, striking out two.

The Brewers — who ended the sixth with a man on third and the seventh with a pair of runner on base — then called in Hillis.

In six previous appearances this year, he’d been perfect. Sporting a 0.00 ERA, Hillis had picked up a pair of saves and another two wins, while allowing just four hits through 5 2/3 innings. The hard-throwing righty also had struck out nine.

The Raptors got him in a bit of trouble early, putting a pair on with two outs. The runners advanced to second and third on a passed ball.

Turay kept Hillis even, though, briefly chatting with him on the mound.

The conversation worked, and Hillis got Jacob Scavuzzo to chase one low and away for a strikeout to end the inning.

“He saw something he didn’t like, and he came out and cooled me down,” Hillis said. “That’s what good catchers do. It’s always good to have that and to have a guy that will talk to you and cool you down when you need it.”

After allowing a pair of batters on to start the bottom half of the eighth, middle reliever Thomas Taylor was pulled for James Baune. He was able to get Weiss to ground out, but then walked Jose Pena to load the bases. And, when his first pitch to Orf went a bit too far inside, the former Baylor Bear was dealt what wound up being the game-winning bruise, an RBI via HBP.

Giving Helena a bit more breathing room, though, was once again Turay, who blooped a Texas leaguer into shallow center to score two more.

In the top of the ninth — after another chat with his catcher early on — Hillis induced a grounder that led to a double play, then struck out the final batter to end it.

“I had the exact same thing last weekend, batter for batter, and I got taken out,” Hillis said. “So it felt good this weekend to finish it.

“I was definitely happy for the double play in the ninth. That’s a pitcher’s best friend right there. After we got that, I knew I could strike out the last guy.”

Turay knew it, too. And that’s exactly what he told his pitcher during their final in-game conversation.

“I just told him to relax,” he said. “Andy throws really hard, and he throws really well. But he tends to rush a bit sometimes, so I just told him to stay calm.

“These guys hadn’t touched a fastball all day, and Andy throws harder than anyone we’d had out there. So I told him just throw it down the middle, and these guys aren’t gonna hit it.”

The teams will meet again today, a 7:05 PM (8:05 Central) matchup at Kindrick Legion Field. The league will then take Tuesday off for MLB’s All-Star game, and Helena will get back on the road for a three-game series at Idaho Falls.

NOTES: Helena first baseman Garrett Cooper was promoted to Wisconsin of the Midwest League on Saturday. He’d played in 16 games for the Brewers, batting .274 with 11 runs and 10 RBIs on 17 hits, including four homers. … Moving from Wisconsin to Helena was Adam Giacalone. In 64 games with the Timber Rattlers, he was batting .249 with 25 RBIs. Giacalone spent his first professional season with the Brewers last year, earning the Jensen Jewelers MVP award after batting .317 with three homers and 32 RBIs. … Also moving Saturday was catcher Clint Coulter, who was transferred to Arizona in the AZL. Playing in nine games for Helena, he was batting .281 with nine hits, including four doubles. … Dionis Hinojosa has now hit safely in his last five games after going 2 for 4 on Sunday.
