bidding on items on ebay and such

Just wanted to know peoples opinions on bidding on an item when you know a person that is also bidding on the same item. Peronally, if I look in a bid history, and I recognize a bidders name that I respect or whatever, I'll not bid on that item. Sort of like a, first come first serve, you see if first its yours for the bidding. Thats just the way I think. What do you guys think? its on ebay its fair game? or what?

 

 

edit. I'm really really tired so it was really hard to get my thoughts in my head typed out on here. So I hope you guys know what I'm trying to say.

I only have one friend like that and it turns out the stuff we bid on is Brewer stuff. If I see his name which I know I usualy ask him about it and tell him how lucky he will be if he wins. I don't bid on stuff that he has the high bid in.

 

I was going to bid on a flag once hung in County stadium but noticed my friends name. I thought he would have the high bid but actually did not win. So now if we see something like a Brewers painted van we would put are money in together.

I have been outbid on stuff numerous times by people whose name I recognize, even though I am the high bidder. So now I really don't care whose name is up there I recognize, unless its a close friend or family.

me and my brother dont bid against each other. i bid an a sheets bobble not knowing the other bidder was cweber and he changed his name. once i saw that i backed off.
