There has been discussion for some time around here about adding extra coaches at every level to help spread the load and get our athletes more individual coaching time. This is a very interesting article (subscriber) about the Rockies doing just that, at least bf.net is a ahead of the curve even if the Brewers aren't!

Anthony Garcia a Cards' OF prospect and as MH noted our own Tyrone Taylor are the divisional winners. It's too bad Taylor's streak came on draft week or he would have been a candidate for the BA hot sheet, he still can be if he keeps it going.

Audio from Nashville — “Mondays with Mike (Guerrero)”

Here is this week’s installment of Mondays with Mike with Sounds manager Mike Guerrero, who discusses the team’s 4-4 record on the recent trip, including a winning series in Memphis, the recent dominance by the starting rotation (1.89 ERA in last 15 games), the emergence of Hainley Statia as lead-off hitter since Scooter Gennett’s promotion to the major leagues, the placement of Hunter Morris in the batting lineup and the team’s preparation for pair of doubleheaders in a four-day span next week in Iowa.

Blaski to MWL All-Star Team -- this corrects a big oversight, congratulations Austin!

I know his ERA is much better but the guy I thought should have been there from the start was Tyler Wagner.

All Dominican Summer League middle infielders, all making their pro debuts over the past week --

17-year-old switch-hitting SS Daniel Leonardo is sporting a .360 / .500 / .480 line after eight games.

18-year-old 2B Jorge Quiterio, a RH bat, at .389 / .522 / .500 after his first 18 AB's (hits in all five games).

19-year-old 2B / SS Gregory Munoz, a LH bat, is only 6-for-9 with a .667 / .750 / .889 line (1.639 OPS) after his first three pro games.

Sweet!

It's not out west, but we have a good old PCL slugfest on our hands tonight. The Sounds trail Omaha 8-7 in the 6th.

And Jed Bradley (who turns 23 in a couple days)... that's three in a row... keep it rollin', young man.
