Brewers High-A Future -- Latest: Manatees choose Braves; Rockies May Like Carolina, Too

Also, I think Madison would be a nice minor league town but it might be too small for AAA. Too bad there's not a AA league closer.

This is likely the wrong thread for this, but here goes…

I agree that Madison is a little bit small, but it wouldn't be the smallest AAA city. Iowa (Des Moines) and Reno are smaller. Technically, Scranton–Wilkes-Barre and Durham have smaller metro populations, but they're snuggled in the midst of lots of people. Toledo and Syracuse are very similar to Madison population-wise. Colorado Springs is slightly larger, but not by much.

[spoiler=AAA Cities by population plus Madison]MSA = Metropolitan Statistical Area

CSA = Combined Statistical Area (CSA generally tacks on a little more area than MSA. As an example, areas in the Madison CSA that aren't in its MSA include the Janesville-Beloit MSA and the Baraboo "micropolitan" area.)

As brewer fans i think we have a different prospective.

Minor leagues only care about winning. This has been proven time and time again.

In 2000, the Indianapolis Indians went to the triple A world series with a bunch of 4A players, i never much cared because there was no prospects. Im sure those in Indy had a great time. If the brewers had a triple a squad that was winning, we wouldn't be in the mess we are in now with the sky sox.

Im sure Kissimee would have reupped with us if BC wasn't so horrible.

The reason why Toledo hasn't immediately signed on with the tigers is that haven't won for years.

Who cares how big Madison is as long as they draw which appears they could. Is Green Bay too small for an NFL team?

Madison a year or two ago was rated the 20th best baseball market. For amateur Northwoods League, they draw 6-7k a game..... Over 4,000 more than league average. Size of Madison doesn't matter as you stated. People in Madison love baseball & just show up!

Proud member since 2003 (geez ha I was 14 then)

FORMERLY BrewCrewWS2008 and YoungGeezy don't even remember other names used

Exactly they could draw a AAA worthy crowd. They currently are in Colorado that draw a tad over 4K. No question they can do that or better. That being said Madison won't have a team for different reasons.
