Name that Prospect


The interesting part about Hamilton is that for his major league career he had exactly one more strikeout than walk (493 vs 494). For his minor league career he had more walks than K's (excluding rehab stints, 199 to 158).

 

I wonder what people would think of Hamilton now - high OBP but low SLG, especially for playing in Denver. Would people be really high on him based on his age 23 season in AAA (.404 OBP), or sour on him based on his age 24 season? Two >3.0 WAR seasons in CF, but other than that a very average player.

I would definitely take Hamilton on any team really. Who wouldn't want someone that is going to have an OBP around .400? Even if he only had an OBP of .350 that is still very valuable and you could always platoon him.

If you think Aoki is a valuable player then you'd think the same of Hamilton. They are basically the same player.
