Mike Trout?

Speaking of Trout, here are his splits. Yikes.

[pre]R/A .352 .419 .486 .905

A/A+ .341 .428 .490 .918

AA .326 .414 .544 .958

AAA .403 .467 .623 1.091[/pre]

Only 20 games at AAA, but he showed in the minors just how good he was going to be. I imagine that we would have taken a serious look at him had the Angels not taken him. We were next up.

Darn. :angry

Hearing the rumors of how high Milwaukee was on Trout, then seeing this and realizing he's Mickey Mantle reincarnate make me very, very sad.

For a guess at the thread title, Xander Booagaerts?

EDIT: Google has given me the answer, but I feel guilty about giving it.

I feel like future 'name that prospects' should be from current prospects and not modern superstars/former players.

Good point here -- I guess I framed the OP as though the stats I was providing were for a current prospect. To clarify, the guy I've given is a former prospect & current MLB player.

Either a current prospect or former prospect is fine to list here... just clarify which type you're listing! (unlike what I did...)

Knowing that this was the pick the Brewers could have had for Sabathia had the Yankees not signed Teixeira (or had Sabathia been ranked ahead of Teixeira, which he should have been), makes me sick.

OK I'll give it a try.

Age Level

20 Rk/A+/AA .279 / .358 / .435 .793

21 A+/AA .326 / .418 / .516 .934

22/23 AAA .272 / .336 / .475 .811

A Brewer "legend". By the way this player had more AB's in AA his age 20 season than his other two stops. Funny how his Age 21 season was a tease of a truly great player, just like much of his time in the bigs.

One more hint and then I am offline until the morning

The above player accumulated 41% of his career WAR in his first two full seasons in bigs. After that he never could quite replicate those numbers for a full year with the exception of one good year in the middle of his career.
