DOB: 8/12/94

(rolltide.com)

SCOUTING REPORT:

MLB.com

A talented two-way player from a small high school in Florida, Eicholtz plays shortstop when he's not pitching. He has a projectable arm that shows flashes with his heater and a near-plus curveball. He's skinny -- 187 pounds in a 6-foot-3 frame -- but his delivery and arm work well with his loose, whiplike extension. Scouts believe he has the chance to be very good, but he's committed to play ball at the University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa next year.

Nick Eicholtz

6-4, 180, RHP/SS

Tampa, Fla. (Cambridge Christian HS)

Entering his senior season at Cambridge Christian HS, Eicholtz ranks as the 39th best prospect in Florida, the fifth best among right-handed pitchers, while ranking 222nd nationally by Perfect Game USA ... Invited to 2012 Perfect Game National Showcase ... Invited to the 2012 Tournament of Stars/Team USA National Showcase ... Participated in 2012 East Coast Pro National Showcase in Syracuse, New York ... Participated in the 2012 Florida Diamond Club-West Team ... Class 2A first team All-State selection as a junior ... Is a two-time All-District selection ... Helped fifth ranked 2A Cambridge Christian High School to a 22-6 record in 2012 and to the Regional Championship game ... Posted a 6-2 record with a 0.34 ERA, and held opponents to a .111 batting average with 67 strikeouts in 39 innings pitched in 2012 ... also hit .333 with four home runs and 35 RBI as a junior ... Was a 2012 Preseason Underclass High Honorable Mention All-American by Perfect Game USA.

Dax Norris on Nick Eicholtz

"He will be ready to pitch at this level right away. He brings it at 88-90, throws strikes and repeats his delivery. Defensively as a shortstop, Nick has a long body, has good range and great actions, and he's very athletic. He's the kind of athlete that you could play anywhere on the field."

SCOUTING REPORT:

Canadian Baseball Network

Quebec high-school students normally graduate at 16, which makes the 6-foot-2, 190-pound LeBlanc one of the younger prospects in the draft; teams will need to preach patience as he is inconsistent in all phases, but has promise on both sides of the ball.
