No the picks speed up once the 1st round is over, we go down to 2 minutes between picks, so half the time.

edit. Actually it's 2 minutes for the supplemental and then 1 minute for round 2.

Well BA lilkes the Gonzalez pick by STL, I don't see much upside there as he pitches 88-91 with his FB, however his change drew a 70 grade on the 20-80 scouting scale. BA says he's the most polished pitcher in the draft.

Yep his true ceiling is probably a #3 but he'll pitch like a #2 just to rub it into us.

The Reds take a CF at 27, can never have too many CF prospects even with Hamilton at AAA.

Is Hamilton the real deal though? I get the feeling he's just fast. That the bat isn't special. Does he have any power? I read in Fantasy 14.3-14.8secs to run around the bases for a inside the parker a night or two ago.

What's your guess Gomez does it in?

Yuck, STL nabs another pitcher, LHP Rob Kaminsky an exciting prospect.

He wouldn't be the #10 prospect in baseball if he just had speed. He'll be an average, slightly above average hitter with little power. But he's also going to be an above average fielder in center.

I thinks he's got a legit hit tool from the RH side, not so much from the left, I think he's the fastest player in professional baseball, he has a good arm, I just don't think he's going to develop power. He could be a .740-.770 OPS guy playing a solid CF, I'd take that. Not a super star, but he'll be exciting and add value beyond his OPS with what he can do on the bases.

Well, I'd hope being that fast he could cover enough ground in CF to be above average.

I just wonder if he's rated so high because his speed/SB ability can't really be taken away any time soon and that's a cant miss ability he has.

But does he have the eye to take walks? I'd say he strikes me as a guy who will look to lay down at least a bunt if not 2 every game played to get on base. It'll probably be effective, annoyingly, but if he's a bunt first guy you would think that leads to under 3pitch ABs which if he doesn't reach plays in to the opposing pitchers hand.

There ya go. Gonzales while not flashy pick probably their Jaime Garcia/Jake Westbrook and now Kaminsky the Shelby Miller for them. Sigh.

Kaminsky is one you've been high on right Crew?

Actually the guy I really want is Hunter Green, but he needs mechanical work which isn't exactly in the Brewer's wheelhouse.

There's more to fielding than how fast you can get to the ball.

Just checked back in, Wily got marginally better as the game went on 99 pitches but only 56 for strikes. I really wish he wouldn't have started slow the last couple of years.

Remember when people were blaming Mike Maddux for the Brewers pitching struggles? Maybe the problem was the talent DM was bringing in and not one of the better pitching coaches in the game?

I sure would love to have him to work with Peralta, Thornburg, and the rest of our young pitchers.

Wow, Shelby Miller is looking really good. Hasn't given up more than 3 earned runs in his last eleven starts. What I would give to have somebody like him in a Brewers uniform.

It's going to suck waiting 12 more years until we sign him.

I would think the new regime/FO would have learned by then after the previous 5 mistakes right? :indifferent

Same here. I am just trying to hold on, I need to see something positive happen for the Milwaukee Brewers organization right now.
