Ackley ...brewers 3b of future?

Ackley was sent down recently by the Mariners....I think the crew should look into getting him on the cheap now. We, at least, need some insurance at 2nd or 3rd for the future. Maybe Jack z. would want a former draft pick and some cash for weeks. Crazier things have happened.

Well Dustin Ackley has never actually played one inning of 3B in professional baseball. He has been mostly a league average fielder at 2B

 

He was a 1st round pick and highly prized and certainly has potential to be better than Bianchi. There is every reason to believe that Scooter Gennett could be as good or a lot better than Ackley (and Scooter is 2 years younger) but aquiring Ackley and correcting what is going on with him could help the Crew. He's better than Yuni B that is for sure

I wouldn't give anything more than a mid to low ceiling player for him. He's had ample opportunity to succeed and has failed pretty miserably. I'd give up a guy like Caleb Gindl or Josh Prince maybe but not much else. I like both of those guys but don't see any room in Milwaukee for either of them.

yeah Ackley was the #2 overall pick in the MLB draft for good reason, he has some great talent. Apparently much of his hitting problems has been his approach at the plate and is mental more so than a lack of ability. I would never count guys like that out, especially at Ackley's age
