Food at Miller Park

gypcasino

Some chatter about this on the in game thread. Figured I'd start a thread about food at the ballpark. I'll probably be wandering around and sampling a lot more during the rest of the season if the action on the field continues to be so poor.

The brats are hit or miss but mostly miss. Pre-cooked and pretty forgettable. When they're bad they're bad. Avoid all sausages really unless you need to check "eat a brat with Secret Stadium Sauce" off your bucket list.

Grab a brat off of any random grill in the parking lot before the game and it'll be better than any sausage you'll get inside.

My favorite foods include-

Poutine, eat fast though, tastes worse as the gravy gets cold (outside sections 106 & 129)

Baked potato, a few different topping options, filling, good bang for your buck (125, 214, 337, 431)

Carved brisket, another relatively good deal, really nice pile of meat and very tasty (125, 222)

Pulled pork parfait (127, 214, 417)

Nachos grande, bigger serving than any of the nachos on the other levels (324)

Cheese curds are pretty good

Make your own sundae on the club level near the bar, if they still have it, been a couple years

I'm not big on eating dessert at the game so I don't have opinion on the rest of the sweets that are offered

Skip the loge level mac and cheese

The specialty items i've tried at the Chef's Table food truck thing have been good. Anyone try the spaghetti stuffed meatball? That's next on my list

That's about all I can think of now

My favorite by far is the cactus league nachos. I haven't had a chance to try any of the more exotic fare so far this year.

Regarding the brats, I think Klements can be good if actually prepared properly and served with a bun that isn't total junk. I usually skip the brats at Miller Park due to the fact they are being prepared well, it seems.

Those baked potato stands are about the least appealing thing I can think of at Miller Park. I like a baked potato, but sitting around at the ballpark, not so much.

I'm typically pretty good about not buying food in the stadium these days, but when I do it's typically the sweet roasted nuts that get me.

I've tried some of the upscale type stuff. The brisket is pretty good. The buffalo mac and cheese was okay. Earlier the food truck thing had a grilled cheese and brisket sandwich that was pretty tasty.

Just to clarify, the reason the brats are subpar is because of the way they're prepared. Klement's makes a fine bratwurst.

As far as the chorizo goes, I remember getting it in the past with the tortilla at a stand around 438 or so on the terrace level near the top of the escalator.

I take full advantage of being able to take food and drink into the stadium.

Ill take bottled soda or gatorade, and sometimes take brats that were grilled in the parking lot into the stadium, and around the 4th or 5th inning get them out, use the sauer kraut and sauce at the stadium for the brats I grilled. Also bringing in your own chips/peanuts/snacks saves you a lot of money too.

Right now the baked potato is my favorite thing at the park. If I am really hungry I eat at Fridays, especially on weekdays when I am coming after work and usually there is outside seating.

Usually the line is pretty long at the stand but at the last game I went to there was no one in the line for the potato so I gave it a try. Easily the best meal I've had at Miller Park for the money. I got the one loaded with brisket, must have been 1/4 pound of shredded brisket + cheese and sour cream on a huge potato.

Yes those fries are awesome. Also the nachos are great as well. Overall Miller Park has a nice selection of food. The Brewers website also has a helpful page listing all the concessions in the stadium and where to find each one.

I was just saying everyone talks about the Brats when talking Brewers and they are probably one of the worst things at the park. If someone never had a brat before and just went and had one at MP, they would probably think that brats suck and that Klements brats are bad.

I have been wanting to try one of those monster baked potatoes for awhile now. Will have to hit it up next game I goto.

Oh yeah, as do I. Especially a giant bag of peanuts. I have a Friday 10 pack and we rarely tailgate before those games so that's when I like to try the different fare inside the park. If I go on Saturday or Sunday and we're tailgating I'll stuff myself in the parking lot and then maybe just get a beer or two inside.

I probably have the Cactus League Nachos at over half the games I attend. I also have the baked potato fairly often.

One place to check is the stand that has food from the current opponent's stadium (provided it's still there this year). It offered a great sandwich when the Phillies were in town last year.

That’s the only thing Chicago’s good for: to tell people where Wisconsin is.

And dont forget you can get a free soda with your parking pass as part of the DD program every game!

Just make sure you redeem your voucher within an hour of the start of the game. Dumbest. Random. Rule. Ever.

I didn't realize that. I agree it's a dumb rule as far as the consumer is concerned, but they probably save a ton of soda/syrup with that rule, and in turn don't have to buy as much for supplying the $15 sodas or whatever gaudy price they actually charge.

For weeknight games (about half the games we attend), we often eat before we get to the park. On Fridays and Sundays we're more likely to get ballpark food. The hawing household experience is complicated slightly by the S.O. being diabetic, but he has found options that work for him. He has charmed the loge-level baked potato ladies into making a custom potato for him (the taco meat plus broccoli). The Cactus League Nachos stand used to offer a taco salad - same toppings but with lettuce instead of chips - but they stopped this year, citing the difficulty of keeping the lettuce fresh. The aforementioned chorizo in a tortilla is a little less carb-y than all the other sausages served in buns, so that has worked out for the S.O. I think it's at least sometimes available on the terrace level.

We are both fans of the carved meat station next to section 222 or so. The Hot Cheese stand on the RF side of the loge level has a surprisingly decent grilled cheese, and also (this year) a Cuban sandwich. I occasionally get a bag of kettle corn, which is too sweet for the S.O. but is a big enough bag so I can snack on it for the next week.

I don't usually spring for the Chef's Table opponent-themed entree, but when Pittsburgh comes to town I do get the pierogies with kielbasa. Man, I like pierogies.

An addendum to rondoman's several posts above: when the crowds are smaller (like they might be for a while going forward, on game days not involving bobbleheads), not all stands are open - but the Guest Relations folks, both field and terrace levels, get a spreadsheet for every game listing what's open and what foods are thus available for each day/night of the season. Don't hesitate to ask. If you visit the terrace level guest relations booth, tell them Laura recommended you. ;)

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.
