Jason Rogers?

What do we have in this guy? He's hit at every level but hasn't put up the huge power numbers until this year. Is it possible that the Brewers stumbled on a guy with a major league future in the 32nd round? Granted at 25, he's a bit old, but he's really been raking. 39 RBI in 45 games?

He's a fringe 2 tool guy, but in the modern game they are most important tools... average and power. I like him as a 1B but that's pretty much all he can play, he's another 1B/DH type which will limit his opportunities with Milwaukee. He's played some LF but I don't think he has a MLB future at that position.

Jason is very likable, easily one of my favorite T-Rats last season, like Macias he always seemed to do something positive when the club really needed it. He's solid in every facet of the game, and I mean that as a sincere compliment. Unfortunately his problem will be that he's not remarkable in any way either. Rogers is the type of player you have to follow to appreciate because he doesn't jump off the field at you when you watch him play, he just doesn't have that type of dynamic athleticism that grabs talent evaluators.

I originally thought he was just organizational fodder, but he's more than that, he has a legit chance to have a MLB career someplace if he can keep hitting.

From August 2011, but still a good write-up.

Remember, he had hamate bone surgery earlier in 2011 (his problems originally started when he developed carpel tunnel syndrome in the hand area from extensive computer use). Now we're seeing some power again.

He may possibly end up a 40-man roster addition this fall similar to the fashion Brock Kjeldgaard did in November 2011 (since taken off).

He certainly has an outside chance of passing up Hunter Morris & Mat Gamel as the "1B of the future". Hitting well in AA ball now

Power numbers are way up this season but the OBP is down. Still a small sample

Since he's already 25, he'd have to get to Nashville & rip it up asap to be considered anything "of the future." He's put up some nice stats, but I'm not sure the organization views him as much more than filler, given how they've handled his promotion/track.
