Maybe it's just me, but these in-game-threads seem to keep getting sparser and sparser.

As will the fans at Miller Park if this season continues in the downward spiral it is currently on.

The Brewers are already down 116,000 fans compared with last year, over 5,000 per game, the 3rd largest drop in MLB. Attendance will likely wind up around 2.5 million unless they somehow get back into the race by August. I doubt there will be any money for free agents this winter.

Good job by Fiers. Let's hope they don't overplay their hand here. Oh and scoring some runs would be nice.

Even with the roof, I think the awful spring didn't help crowds any. I think they should be OK (though reduced) when school gets out for the traditional summer season, but it will be a challenge to hold attention once August comes unless there is a big turnaround.

I don't get taking Burgos out? His bat was due up in the bottom of the inning.

And I was going to say, with Fiers now, does he bat him or take him out which with Fiers, I would think an outing through the 6th/7th inning was coming?

With this comment I am only wondering if are you watching the game? Burgos had 88 pitches through just 3 1/3 innings and was laboring in every single inning. Fiers came in and cleaned up.

I am starting to wonder if it's time for Burgos to go back to AAA.

Finally, some offense!

I'm curious what is this based on (116,000 and 5,000)?

And that's counting people like me. I have two tickets to all 3 games of this series. They are still in the closet and will not be used.

I follow the game on Gamecast. Don't have Cable nor the luxury to sit at a bar and watch the game.

I was in mid type when Fiers showed up as batting for the sacrifice.

It is great to have a full inning of all the talented hitters performing at once. It's innings like these that has to put a scare in to opposing pitchers.

And then they give away a free out...again.

http://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/current_attendance.shtml

Through 22 dates

2012: 782,424 (35,565 per game)

2013: 665,974 (30,272 per game)

Thanks. I find it interesting the Brewers overall average was 34,955 for the entire season. Brian Anderson was saying attendance is always lowest in April & May because kids are still in school. But these stats indicate attendance was actually highest last year in April in May. I suppose that is because they were coming off an NLCS birth in 2011, but played poorly during the year until a late season surge, so attendance went down in June/July/Aug.

Yay, outs on bases. Two such outs in 60 seconds. Love the runnin Ron game plan. Gomez is a braindead dolt.

I'll give Punto some degree of credit on that first out. Gomez never should have been in that position, but even then he's back fairly easily if Punto doesn't play good old-school block the bag baseball there. Lots of guys wouldn't have made that play on his end.

To be fair, Gomez would have been back safe. Punto's foot blocked the bag.
