Sometimes It hard for me to realize why this team isn't playing well at the moment we got 3 guys hitting well over .300 with 20 HR and 57 RBI over 34 games combined (Braun Segura and Gomez) then you throw in the extra production of Yuni and Aoki and we should be winning right?........but then I look at the pitching staff and go......."oh that's right.....that is why" :(

Yeah, the pitching has not been good, especially with Gallardo struggling.

I'm trying to stay at least a little bit positive. The Brewers cannot be as bad as they've played over the last week and a half. Way too much talent here for that. Plus, four and a half months of baseball left and blah, blah, blah.

Still, for my own sanity it would be nice to win a game or two in the near future. Or maybe it's time for an earlier-than-usual Brewer vacation.

Bianchi's stance reminds me a lot of Hardy. The only differences I see are Hardy's odd thumb positioning (like a golfer, not a baseball player) and his swing looking like shoulders/upper arms. But in terms of stance, they look the same

Glad I missed this series.....

Peralta throws way to many fastballs currently about 70% of his pitches this year are FB......that is just insane

That's about the same as Shelby Miller is throwing for the cardinals. He's an elite prospect, while Wily is a Brewers prospect...

Glad we woke up the Reds offense. They're a Votto as Votto away from making 3rd place the Brewers ceiling and if the Pirates finally don't fade, we are in for a long year as the 4th place NL Central team....

Shelby Miller is averaging 10.1 K/9 IP

Wily coming into the day was averaging 4.6 K/9 IP.

How was Peralta's velocity today? I'm wondering why his K rate is so low.

94-96 from what I saw.

I'm still a big fan of Peralta. His LOB% is really low and the strikeouts aren't there right now but his sinker generates so many ground balls which probably isn't good with Betancourt and Weeks on the infield right now. If he can work high in the strike zone with his fastball and get players to chase the strikeouts will come, even if he still throws his fastball 70% of the time and the sinker will always generate ground balls.

So long as Big Wily's velocity is where it should be, I'm not at all concerned. Some pitchers take a while to adjust to the bigs.

I posted this a few days ago in the game thread:

From the March 5-19 Baseball America:

Best GOSO (ground out/strikeout) rate in all of AAA baseball:

Trevor Bauer 72.4%

Wily Peralta 72.3%

This is one of the main reasons why I think Wily will be effective, even pitching half his games at Miller Park. The strikeout rate hasn't been there really yet, but he's going to get a lot of ground ball outs. And he should have a good number of double plays, too.
