I'd be happy with their Noah Syndergaard, lol.

Please no Axford. We'll give that run right back.

Henderson is, and should be, our closer.

I hope Roenicke eventually gives up on the bizarre idea that for some reason, Axford needs to be worked back into that role at some point.

So, how about Melvin saying they didn't want to trade Cruz but the outfield was full with Hart and Braun?

That was pretty annoying.

That lineup would have been the best in baseball by a landslide. Braun, Fielder, Cruz, Hart, good Weeks, Hardy. Yikes!

Though I kind of have this rep as a calm fan who can see the big picture/long view of things, if the Brewers had retained Nelson Cruz, gotten as close to a WS title as the 2011 Rangers did, and missed out on a play like Cruz made (didn't make) in the 2011 WS...I might have gone postal.

Obviously not trading Cruz wouldn't have guaranteed any WS appearances, but man. I wonder if he's regarded by Rangers fans the way Bill Buckner was in Boston.

Back to reality: almost any outcome tonight would have been an improvement over Sunday's game, but it was heartening to see the home team win again, finally. Let's ponder who currently leads the team in HR and RBI. Yup.

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

I would have crapped myself if that had happened. I think a Brewers team with Cruz has enough offense to beat the Lardinals

I think all Peralta needs is a more reliable off speed pitch and a willingness to throw it.

He actually was mixing in his changeup pretty effectively at times tonight. He still doesn't show great feel for it more than every once in a while, but his FB/sinker can be so electric that his change can be effective even without a lot of polish. I feel like he hardly threw his slider tonight, though.

This is my logical Maddening reasoning behind RRR's suggestion of Axford being Closer again down the road....

He's stuck with Axford. Henderson was the 8th inning guy. No other clear cut 8th inning guy. If he has to keep working Axford then:

Better to let Henderson pitch the 8th so the game is more likely to head to the 9th for the closer(Axford) to blow it. Rather than insert Axford in 8th, he blows it, and leaving RRR with the decision when to pitch Henderson in the game? 9th? 10th? Not at all(Rest for next game)??

So, I don't know what more to think about RRR. I don't follow him as a great leader when to me, his decisions don't look to be being made with a BackBone.

Sit Weeks down for a couple games. Say Axford is done being our closer. Not throwing at other teams protecting our batters after being hit, just letting it slide. Emotion towards the umps with the bad calls...

Maybe that's why they make them for us, they don't fear a visit from an Angry RRR?

It's just soft.

I only picked up some info on GameDay. Peralta was 96 mph with 4 seam in the 6th. 94 with two seam. I saw a bundle of changes (I think to a lefty), then he struck him out on a slider. I love how his changeup is 86. A bit like some of our guys fastballs. Does he have a curve? Anyway... there are four pitches 4 seam, 2 seam, slider, change. Honestly, if you are throwing a sinker at 94 mph, you likely can throw that all day.

How that translates into a number FOUR potential, I dont agree with.
