Peralta batting .273 on the season? Not a lot of at bats obviously, but still. Wow.

From the March 5-19 Baseball America:

Best GOSO (ground out/strikeout) rate in all of AAA baseball:

Trevor Bauer 72.4%

Wily Peralta 72.3%

This is one of the main reasons why I think Wily will be effective, even pitching half his games at Miller Park. The strikeout rate hasn't been there really yet, but he's going to get a lot of ground ball outs. And he should have a good number of double plays, too.

Something interesting from the FOX SPorts Southwest TV broadcast:

Also, with his hit tonight, Ryan Braun now has a 29 game interleague hitting streak, third longest in MLB history.

Peralta and Lohse are looking to be the teams #1 and #2 pitcher with Gallardo looking more like a #5 pitcher (1st year starting). Not sure if I should put that in blue or not. Peralta has sure looked rather good other than that last start against the Cardinals though that was a death by a million paper cuts.

Peralta has been decent this year. He's done well for a rookie. The only questionable starts have been the start at Wrigley and the last Cardinals game. Peralta was pitching well at Wrigley until he crumbled in the 7th. The Cardinal game was lucky Cardinal garbage. The strikeouts will come for Willy.

I have a theory on Soto. He makes it easier for the ump to call a ball because he has so much movement when framing a pitch. He'll frame strikes and move it to the middle as well as balls, so it's one big mess with him catching back there.

To me, that's one of the iconic plays of the 60s and 70s. Another is Clemente catching a ball in right, and in one movement spinning, and throwing an absolute missile to third on the fly.

How many Gold Gloves did those two guys have between them? I'm guessing close to 30.

I checked. 28. Wow.

I know there is no empirical evidence to support any conclusions, but it sure seems like the Crew has been on teh wrong side of a whole lot more than the average number of bad calls this season. That call completely changed the inning.

Somebody please tell me again about how umpires get 99% of calls right, and that they are really good at what they do. This becomes less believable every time we get screwed over by a bad call.

Gomez should be at 1st right now. Horrible call

Ranger chuckleheads are saying "we heard bat". No kidding, it bounced off his hand and hit the bat.

At least Peralta has a better habit of keeping his pitch count in check compared to Gallardo.
