2013-05-03 Cardinals (Miller) at Brewers (Lohse), 7:10 PM CDT [Ramirez returns; Brewers lose, 6-1]

Community Moderator
Just realized they are actually wearing their BP caps not an actual game cap, so is this a one off returning to the all blue caps, or is their retro uniform all season?

Per the TV broadcast, this is the only time this season they are going to wear these caps.

Not just “at Night” anymore.

Why is Miller getting strikes where Lohse is not?
There are three things America will be known for 2000 years from now when they study this civilization: the Constitution, jazz music and baseball. They're the three most beautifully designed things this culture has ever produced. Gerald Early

You are welcome to post here so long as you don't make antagonist trolling comments like say Braun is steroid boy or others of that vain.

Nah, that's not me. Don't tell my friends but I actually like Braun.

I second that welcome! As someone who occasionally peruses other fan boards as well, curious which site you consider your "mother-board"?

If I had to say....I guess I would go with http://www.reddit.com/r/Cardinals/ but I don't post much there either.

I promise I won't cause any trouble here. I just like talking/ENJOYING baseball!

Why is Miller getting strikes where Lohse is not?

In the last inning, Carpenter got a walk on a strike, but the pitch was supposed to be on the outside corner and instead Lucroy had to move his glove to the inside corner where the pitch ended up. Not excusing the ump, but they miss pitches like that a lot.

It was the two strike pitch to Holliday which hurt. I don't think Miller has been getting help so much as Lohse has been getting pinched.

Man, it's ridiculous how deep Aoli plays. That's two hits tonight which should have been outs, but Aokie stands nearly on the warning track.

I understand that he struggles going back on balls, but standing 2-3 steps off the warning track regardless who is at the plate strikes me as extreme.

EDIT-- Now they get two more runs in innings where none would have scored if Aoki catches line drives which landed no more than 8-10 feet from the warning track, but he was so deep that they fell in a foot or two front of him.

Lohse was pathetic tonight. Really lucky he only gave up 4, although 2 of them were due to no help from blue, that's for sure.

The Cards are like our big brother that constantly kicks us around. I'm really freaking sick of it, and the fact that we never can seem to do anything about it.

Why is Miller getting strikes where Lohse is not?

He isn't, for as much as they talked about it and said it was due to Molina etc the pitch by Miller had the entire ball on the plate and the pitch by Lohse just nicked the corner. Millers caught a ton more of the plate.

Playing the Cardinals stinks, it seems like we just completely forget how to hit every single time and every little ball they hit seems to find some goofy hole somewhere. At least our bullying of the Pirates seems to be us nailing the ball, not just getting 10 flair hits every game.

i dont see what is so special about this miller kid. he relies too much on the fast ball. the guy just throws the fastball in the zone. a smart hitting team is going to crush him. he may surprise hitters his first year because of a lack of game tape. hitters will figure him out. lol just not the brewers...
