who is your sleeper?

I have a few based on statistics over the last few years. I still think Gindl will have a nice big league career as a 4th OF. Wooten and the other AAA relievers should have good careers as well. But my sleepers are Big Brock and Nick Shaw (love the OBP skills, although I'm not sure how his defense is. He has played considerable SS)

edit: wanted to add that I'm glad to see one of my sleepers from the last two years has emerged as a prospect--Josh Prince. I've been wrong on lots of players, but it's fun when we're right with someone.

I'll second the Nick Shaw mention. I don't know about defense either, but his fielding percentages by minor league standards anyway are pretty good. I saw him briefly on a Brewer spring telecast, and he's slight, but he's been durable. Maybe as he gets stronger he'll add some pop to his already good on base skills.

I don't have one, I've always gravitated towards the big arms who needed more control in the low minors, getting attached to guys like Manzanillo and Cravy in Helena, but no one has jumped out at me in a while. Some of my attachments like Bowman and Trejo were guys I put into OOTP who were the prospects that randomly turned and into all-stars for me at the MLB level, but I haven't played OOTP in years.

I have three guys that I never followed much, until this year, and they maybe, maybe can be OK.

Brent Suter, a leftie starter in A+, out of Harvard!. I read he is a low 90s thrower. And I guess a Harvard guy is not dumb. So maybe now 100% baseball, his stuff and brains together may be something to keep tabs on.

Alan Williams, a leftie relieve in AA. He has always had good metrics (high K per 9, with good control). Only 23 years old.

My new fav, Adam Weisenburger as a catcher in AA (at 24) has been noted as the best defensive catcher in the organisation. But he cant hit much. But this year, for some odd reason, his OPS is .964. And he is walking more then K'ing. Early days. Is he another Maldanodo. All D, cant hit... then we find out he CAN HIT. Hmmmm, and I see a Minnesota boy. Maybe a late bloomer - given you dont get much chance to bloom in the Northlands.

Those who follow the Minors forum know I've been on the Mike Walker bandwagon for some time. Not going to be a star, but a high OBP guy who could be a left-handed bench bat.

Jacob Barnes has put up some good numbers striking out almost one per inning. I think the Brewers are high on him as they converted him from a reliever to a starter late last year.

The one I was really high on, and am anxiously awaiting to see how he comes back from injury, is "The Mad Bahamian" Sean Albury. Had a great start to his career in Helena last year but is hurt now. The last guy drafted from Nova Southeastern University turned out pretty well...
