2013-04-29 Pirates (Rodriguez) at Brewers (Gallardo), 7:10 PM CDT [Brewers win, 10-4; 5 HR and 3 3B]

Man, if I were a Pirates fan I can't imagine how much I'd hate the Brewers.

Come off of a sweep of the Braves, come to Milwaukee and get pounded as usual.

I have thought about this before - Pirate fans must hate the Brewers

But boy, this is fun

Although small sample this year Gomez has the lowest BB% of his career

yep, small sample but its fun to think that he's on pace for a 27 HR, .341 BA, .960 OPS season

i think i no longer dislike the yunibomber. dare i say that im starting to look forward to his at bats?

As long as he doesn't play SS he (obviously) has value as a backup who can fill in at various positions when starters are hurt or need a day off

Man do the Brewers own the Pirates. Is it wrong for me to expect this to continue? I mean I know the Pirates are improved but there's just something about playing the Pirates that just brings out the best in this team.

Five home runs so far tonight, wow. The offense is looking great!

Also with the SSS caveat, coming into tonight's game (per FanGraphs), Gómez has seen 4.01 pitches/PA. Compare that to 3.39 last season, & 3.49 on his career. For further comparison... '12 Braun: 3.75, '12 Aoki: 3.89, '13 Segura: 3.75.

He has looked much more disciplined and savvy at the plate so far. Hopefully this is a permanent addition to his game, and not something he'll slip away from as the season drags on.

Segura is awesome, lol. Needs a double for the cycle now, no?

He's got some definite power, and that's to the opposite field.

This offense is going to be incredible when A-Ram and Hart get back and Weeks remembers how to hit.

I know, I really can't wait. It's going to be awesome.

Rickie Weeks need a "week" off.

As one of the biggest Rickie Weeks fans... I completely agree. Very disappointing that Roenicke hasn't taken the initiative to sit him down for at least a couple days. Whatever they've been trying to get Rickie back on track clearly isn't working. Time for plan b.
