Link Report for Thurs. 4/25 -- Send all the home fans happy - a 4-0 night!

Mass Haas

Nice nights for Nelson, Hellweg and Bradley. Can't believe I actually used Bradley in that sentence

And holy Scooter; the kid is on fire. He isn't going to take Rickie's job anytime soon but my confidence in him as our future 2nd basemen is growing.

]Mark Rogers pitched the 7th allowing 3 earned runs on 4 hits and 2 walks. Rogers topped out at 90 on the radar gun.

That is not very encouraging, I really don't know what they are going to do with him. I certainly don't want him pitching any close games in the majors.

It's hard to see any other team claiming him (they'd have to carry him on their active roster too) if he continues to struggle on rehab. So either he pitches well and returns to Brewers in bullpen role, or he doesn't, then gets through waivers and assigned.

I'd put the odds this way:

Pitches well enough that he's put back on Brewer active roster at the end of rehab: 20%

Somebody claims him off of waivers: 5%

Gets through waivers and is assigned to minor league roster: 40%

Brewers just release him outright: 10%

Gets another injury and is put on 60 day DL: 25%

Jimmy Nelson seems to have stepped it up a notch this year. Small sample but he's cut his BB/9 by over half and upped his K rate. Probably a safe bet he sees Nashville at some point this summer, yes?
