Weeks is so bad right now that I would bench him and make him hit batting practice for a few games and give 2B to Scooter Gennett.

He'll be batting 4th again tomorrow.

On the second tag Segura was still on the base, however Im not sure if you are allowed to run the bases in reverse order.

It should not have been a doubleplay and this insane play was ruled correctly by the umps.

I believe the "stealing first" idea came from old timer Germany Schafer, who would steal second on a failed double steal attempt, trying to draw the throw from the catcher to allow the R3 to score. THe catcher would not throw, so Schafer would steal first to set up a R1 R3 scenario again, and then re-try the double steal.

Rule 7.08(i)

(i) After he has acquired legal possession of a base, he runs the bases in reverse order

for the purpose of confusing the defense or making a travesty of the game. The

umpire shall immediately call “Time” and declare the runner out;

Rule 7.08(i) Comment: If a runner touches an unoccupied base and then thinks the ball was

caught or is decoyed into returning to the base he last touched, he may be put out running back to that

base, but if he reaches the previously occupied base safely he cannot be put out while in contact with

that base.

I have been hard on Rickie, but in all seriousness, he would do some good going back to AAA for a couple of weeks and get straightened out. I am 100% certain that Scooter would outperform the nonsense that Rickie Weeks is doing out there right now. On top of that, for some reason, as bad as he has been, he continues to bat 4th.

That was just absolutely the dumbest thing I have ever seen at 2B. Why was Braun out if 1) segura gave up possession of the base by running and 2) they tagged segura first.

They were both on the base. Both were tagged, making Braun out right there. Then Segura ran back to first for no reason. The only way that could have been "better" is if GoGo was on second instead of Braun and decided to run to third.

I don't have the game on after dinner. It's sounding like I definitely need to watch the bottom half of the eighth though. :D

I'm still trying to comprehend what the heck I just saw that inning.

Weeks is beyond useless. Seriously just the definition of suck. Either swinging thru or watching fastballs right down the middle, check swinging on anything low and away, and then whatever that last swing was. There's no way in hell he would of got the bunt down there, so I'm not mad at Roenicke for not calling it.. The best you could of hoped for was him taking one off his huge ass or lucking into a walk.

1) Segura was entitled to 2nd base because he was not forced to third.

2) Order doesn't matter, you can tag guys as much as you want, if they are out they are out
