Brewers sign K-Rod (minor-league deal)

I really have no problem with it, especially on a no-risk minor league deal, but the snide, sarcastic part of me wants to say, "Yeah, this'll fix our pen."

Same here.

Although, as others have said there's no risk. Except to my sanity. He's one of my least-favorite Brewers to watch ever.

as a human being, I'm not a fan of this. Multiple instances of domestic violence? A DUI for a month worth of alcohol in one evening THEN taking the wheel. not a good day for SE Wisco. Of course, I'm happy to have a solid ballplayer. Not sure I feel the benefits outweigh the costs

If he can go back to 2011 form we will have a very good bullpen. If not, then expect more blown ball games in the late innings.

Here's some more info on it. Seems low risk to me. Has 30 days to make an impact in the minors. Will likely only get called up if there's a need in that time frame. Heyman tweeted that he'll get $2M+ if he is on the major league team.

We signed Rodriguez to play baseball, not to be a humanitarian. I couldn't care less what Rodriguez does in his spare time as long he doesn't kill or rape anyone. I don't care if he's got anger issues. This deal can't really hurt us. If he sucks than we cut him. It won't cost much to get rid of him anyways. If he works out than we found a cheap band-aid for the pen. The Brewers should call up Olmstead. The team has to keep trying to find ways to fix the bullpen.

How does that work? Does he get all 2 million guaranteed if he throws just a single pitch on the big league team?

I wouldn't have done it for two reasons. The first is the off-the-field stuff that's already mentioned in the thread, the second is, I honestly don't think he can pitch any better than some of the other guys at Nashville at this point.

As a fan, I hope he does great, and proves me wrong, but I'd have been fine without this move.

So the line is drawn at rape and murder.
