New plan. No bullpen. Starters go 9 regardless of game situation or pitch count. That way we can carry the 13 utility infielders we apparently will need this year.

edit: And I get my wish, Axford is justly awarded all of his hard earned runs.

Edit: 24.30

Why do o many throws from the outfield one-hop their way to the plate? Fear of air mailing the catcher? The eyeball test says the ball gets there noticeably quicker when it doesn't skip off the ground first.

One hop into the glove close to the ground is ideal. Not a lot of guys can throw it in the air to home middle deep in the outfield. At least not accurately.

I'm really glad we fixed the bullpen problems from last year........

We'll should we DFA or demote Axford the bullpen should be greatly improved.

Well, that's game. Thanks to Roenicke and Axford for this loss.
I know it's not as emotionally satisfying but if the Brewers' offense goes 9 and scores 3, they certainly get some credit.

Yes, but there are some major issue with our lineup that are a result of our GM and manager.

That Schafer guy did over the weekend. You know him, the prospect who's blocked because we signed Gomez to an extension.

I feel just sick right now. Roenicke is just clueless.

No kidding. He was filthy against Castro. He should've been left in.

He didn't throw a single strike to Castro who swung at 7 balls in a row? Rizzo is not that type of hitter.

There is no excuse for putting Axford in there and definitely no excuse for leaving him in for another inning when the game was on the line. This is one loss that is largely on the manager even if the final result wasn't set in stone if they made better moves.

Yeah saw that, and yes I know him. He makes that throw 10% of the time. Great throw though

Because you're a lot more likely to be accurate if you keep the ball low. It's a much larger margin of error. You can throw it 5 to 30 feet short and it still one hops the catcher. Where as you have about a 6 foot window to not airmail him on the fly.
