Alternates....

jeffreyzee

How do you guys always get the retros or blues? Does everyone just buy a ton of tickets or what?

I have been to most of the games the last 3 years or so and we usually end up with three per game. The only blue I have ever gotten is the Gorman which was years ago....

What's the secrete?

jeff, try and look on the cartons(big boxes) that they come in, I didn't realize this until last year, anyway, at the end of the box it will say something like this, here is an example...

BD&A Exclusive Don Sutton White Jersey

and all of the bobbles in that are white, but, look, some of them will have "Mixed" and that means you have a chance of pulling a blue out, I have also had the most success with the home plate entrance.

I heard from a guy at the players lot that for the prince fielder bobble the boxes were labled differently than what the bobbles actually were. He also said they were handing out the retros to mostly kids.

So far for me I have only two alternates off the pull and they were blue Molitor and blue Sutton. I have one ticket and my friend has 3 or 4 each game so far the only blue he has is Moore off the pull. We go in the third base entrance. I don't know how they do the '82 bobbles so I guess I have just been really lucky. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Getting alternates really saves me money. and I hope I can get a retro Bill Hall http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

well, i hope you didn't hear it from that one red head guy

That was him. He was %100 percent certain about it too. I would trust you more than him since you have all the SGA bobbleheads. This guy had a scragley dirty just got out of a 12hr factory job and headed straight over to MP look to him.

Hallfan - Are you talking about the big brown cardboard boxes that they take them out of? I have never heard your theory before...a guy that I know who works at Miller Park said he didnt even know

Yes, just look on the side of the box next time you go, you will see it...

I wouldn't take anything that he says seriously, he claims he works at the DNR and he goes to MP every single morning to the lot for autos, then goes to the Uecker line for tix. I like to support my team, but I think this guy sort of is a little "TOO INTO" the Brewers, when you spend 8-10 hours every game day at MP, that is going a little too far. I know that Counsell, Mench, and Jenkins don't even sign for him anymore, honestly, I don't really believe 90% of the stuff that comes out of his mouth.

Yea that's him he called himself a real collector lol. I got to the lot at 9 and he was already there for a 1:05 game. He had a dufflebag full of stuff and a SGA bobble from a few years ago and the SGA Snow Globe. He left shortly after getting his autos to make it to the Uecker line quickly and orginize his duffle bag.

thinking of the uecker ticket fiend makes me reminiscent of wisconsin. the only person i know in phx who has that much sad loyalty to the team, is this freakish grandma who comes to diamondback games with 9 flags to wave them for the 9 players. she's a weirdo and she spouts & dances like a chicken.

at spring training, i've seen a few grown men act like that described guy. many ppl like to get autographs, then there are a few scraggly guys who seem to enjoy getting them way too much. players mostly sign for kids & really they pay most of the attention to the kids.

sometimes i wonder why i like to have so many bobbleheads of these guys. maybe its a sickness. half of my collection is the retro SGAs of the players i remember when i was a kid.

Got a question I will have 3 tickets to this fridays game for the Mike Caldwell bobble.

The last two friday games I have been lucky and got blue Molitor & Sutton with one ticket each game coming the third base entrance.

Would it be wise for me to get one bobble and scope out the labeling on the boxes exit and reneter and get the other 2 or should I try and get all 3 at once? I only need one blue for myself the other two dosent matter since my dad does not care that much.

I know the right way for the ticket people to do this is have you re enter for each ticket but so far I have not seen that or had to do that myself.

Ok so I went in homeplateentrance closest to the will call ticket booth this time because I had some tickets to pick up at will call. Turns out my friend had four tickets I had three. I couldn't read the boxes to well before we walked in so I just stayed in the same line and gave them all my tickets my friend got his four I got my three all from the same guy. The second one I got was the only blue both of us got. So whatever luck I have it is sweet I am now 3 for 6 now on getting powder blues http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

I just hope I can be as lucky tomorrow with only one ticket and possibly a Uecker ticket if I get there early enough. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I see the presales for retro Halls are already at a buy it now price of over $50 http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eek.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif

I got to MPat 6:30 AM and waited in the Uecker line had nothing else to do Sunday and for a $1 Hall bobble it was worth the wait.

I noticed boxes were labled both mixed and white. I went through right field with two tickets and got only white then left to move my car before I got a ticket and go pick up a friend came back with two more tickets and went through home plate.

Went through twice the first time was with my two tickets the second time was with one of my friends tickets. I got two retros with my tickets and anoter whitw with my friends. He also got a retro from homeplate with his first ticket.

My total for the weekend was one blue Caldwell and three pinstripe one retro Hall and 3 white.

Do you have an option of what box you get it out of when you go in?

The only retro I've ever gotten was when I went with my brother-in-law. I let him go in early with my ticket because he had to pee. He's a Cubs fan... He gets the Cooper retro and won't give it to me. I went to their house last week and it's sitting in the box on the floor behind his bar...

I forgot to mention my retro Hall did not come with the pink bat. I went to Guest Relations on the first floor during the second inning and they had extra black bats but no pink bats.

The lady there said come back after the game and maybe they might have pink bats. They eneded up having I think three pink ones left when I went back.

I wish quality control was a little better from BD&A

You do if you can read the box and pick the line that has mixed but otherwise the ushers just hand you a bobble from the box they have open.

I notcied that is was pretty well a mix of what boxes were at what entrances. I saw a couple of the boxes infront when I went into homeplate and they said white but the ones in the back that were open must have been mixed because I got two retros there out of three tickets.

ya BD&A blows, I wish the Brewers did bobbles like the Twins, and Cubs, with AGP...

They are heavier fatter, more of a classic look and they display better.

Nice to see you got your bobbles though Zach, I got one of each the alternates as well.

And I thought I was the only one taking pictures of those boxes.

Seriously, I thought you somehow stole my pictures because I took two identical photos.
