Denny McLain Interview

splitterpfj

For those of you who don't know, Denny McLain is the last pitcher to win 30 games in a MLB season - he won 31 in 1968.

Denny was a great pitcher, with a career shortened by injury. His personal life has been all over the place - I didn't dig into much of that today, because I wanted a good baseball conversation, and heck, it's the man's birthday.

I hope you like it.

I wish I could convey Denny's tone. He was fine, and pleasant, but if you read the remarks about Tim McCarver, and the later remarks, where I tried to draw a parallel between his career, and Justin Verlander's...his responses were immediate, and sharp.
