Opening Day Roster Predictions

DR28

Since we're about 2 weeks away from Opening Day, I figured it's a good time to see who everyone thinks will make the 25 man roster.

Rotation

Gallardo

Estrada

Fiers

Peralta

Narveson

Peralta beats Rogers for last Rotation spot... Rogers goes to bullpen as Long Reliever.

Bullpen

Axford

Gonzalez

Henderson

Olmsted

Badenhop

Gorzelanny

Rogers

Olmsted beats out Kintzler for the final bullpen spot.

Lineup

Aoki

Weeks

Braun

Ramirez

Lucroy

Gomez

Green

Segura

Bench

Maldonado

Bianchi

Gonzalez

Crosby

Schafer

Once Corey comes back Crosby is gone... Green stays so the Brewers have another LH bat off the bench.

Your 25 Man Roster looks about right. I would make one change (drop Crosby add Gindl, if we are going young, give the guy a chance)

I'm liking that second one, but I think narveson isn't ready---i think it'll be one of the Dodgers extra pitchers

I hope your right... I would gladly take Capuano back!

Here we go:

Rotation:

Gallardo

Estrada

Fiers

Narveson

Burgos

Bullpen:

Axford

Gonzalez

Gorzelanny

Badenhop

Henderson

Olmsted

J. Sanchez

Outfield:

Braun

Gomez

Aoki

Schafer

Gindl

Infield:

Ramirez

Segura

Weeks

Gonzalez

Green

Bianchi

Catchers:

Lucroy

Maldonado

Okay, I'm out on the limb on Burgos, but Peralta has been far from dominating this spring and they could want him to get straightened out in Nashville. In a surprise to many I think Rogers will either be traded or will clear waivers and get assigned to Nashville. Burgos has been solid for Brewers and Puerto Rico.

In the pen, Olmsted beats out Kintzler. I have a hunch on Jesus Sanchez as well based on how he's being used this spring. He's coming in to get the last outs of innings for starters running out of gas/up to pitch counts. That's how Roenicke likes to use his 12th pitcher.

Narveson's fine. His spring innings total doesn't include his outing against Team Canada.

  • 2 weeks later...

With all the changes in the last few days, I have a new projection...

Rotation

Gallardo

Lohse

Estrada

Peralta

Narveson

Bullpen

Axford

Henderson

Gonzalez

Gorzelanny

Badenhop

Kintzler

Fiers

Lineup

Aoki

Weeks

Braun

Ramirez

Lucroy

Gonzalez

Gomez

Segura

Bench

Maldonado

Lalli

Betancourt

Davis

Schafer

Davis goes to Nashville when Corey returns... Lalli and Gonzalez become our primary PH bats... When Rogers gets his velocity back he takes Kintzler's spot in the Bullpen...

I must admit, I feel much better about our Rotation now!! Gallardo-Lohse-Estrada could make a very nice 1-3!
