Trouble accessing on Windows 8 machine (Update: issue has been fixed)

I just sprung for the new Lenovo Yoga notebook/tablet. Mostly I got it for the solid state drive as my 4 year old Lenovo started to have hard drive and battery issues.

The new one uses Windows 8 for an operating system, and I can't access this forum with it. Is there a solution? I can access the main BF.net page, but then am denied access to here.

It seems to get to other websites fine.

Thanks!

JimH5, it should work fine if you click the little "broken page"-looking icon up by the URL to put the browser into Compatibility View. I noticed the same Forbidden / 500 Internal Server Error issue a couple weeks ago and forgot to mention it on the Issues & Events forum once I was rolling with Compatibility View.

Thanks--that worked fine.

And thanks to others for their recommendations on Google Chrome.

The new Windows 8 is a little quirky for those of us who aren't early adopters of technology. Plus I seem to only get a few minutes at a time to try to figure out this new machine.

But I'm on the forum now, and I think it will be easy to get back. . .

I'm curious as to why this forum would need compatibility view. That's something we should probably look into.

I'm going to move this topic over to Issues & Events. That's a better fit for topics pertaining to the operation of the board as moderators will make it a point to check that forum when they see that it has new messages.

Just to elaborate, this was a side effect of an anti-spam measure.

You should remove the compatibility view from IE10. That makes IE10 function as if it's IE7, which is something you don't really want to do unless you absolutely have to.

Thanks for reporting this. :)
