It's always funny to me how great the paintjobs are on the "just released" photos of the bobbles, then when we get to the game and take them out of the box, the paint jobs are usually pretty bad.

Yeah, I was commenting on this yesterday. That bobble looks awesome and actually looks like Aoki. Hopefully the real gameday ones come close.

It's a shame how badly the quality of the bobbles has slipped over the past few years.

I've said it before, but the quality has slipped because they are doing so many of them. I really think this is my last year of collecting them, I have no more room and they have really just lost almost all of their appeal for me at this point.

This one does look like Aoki, but let's see how horrible the actual one is.

I'm right with ya brwrsfan, I plan on getting a few from this year, but prolly not all of them. I've been collecting them for a decade now, that's a pretty good run. I'll never get the Attanasio or Iceman at the prices that they're at. I might get a Braun Helena alternate someday, but they are ALWAYS available. It was fun while it lasted, but I'm enjoying my new found love for baseball cards.

Love the Boomer. I don't collect bobbles, but I might pick up that one.

Be careful man, you get one, and suddenly you have 100 of them!

You're right about the collecting bug. But I just don't have the shelf space to go crazy. And I think I would just limit my interest to players in the Barrelman era.

I said I was only going to do the Brewers mascots and my favorite players. Now I have 350... Lol.

And BTW I didn't have shelf space either, now I have four 6 foot bookshelves and a five foot one, its a sickness.

I've done pretty well with sticking with only Brewers and Brewers Minor league SGAs. ( I also have a very small collection of Tampa Bay Bucs bobbles, but they rarely put out an SGA, so I pretty much only have their super bowl champions bobbles from super bowl XXXVII)

Every once in a while, something else will catch my eye, but I have less than 20 bobbles that are not affiliated with the Brewers or Bucs some how.

I am missing only one Brewers related SGA, the phantom Nashville "George Plaster!"

I seriously don't think I will ever find one...

My problem was when I started collecting again I would buy anything that bobbles. I sold most of the clutter on ebay and have scaled it back to Brewers, Brewers minors, Snappers, Rattlers, Admirals, Wisconsin Northwoods teams, and Mascots that look cool. That sounds like a lot but the only collections I try to have all of is Brewers and Admirals. The others I pick up if I like them.

I've toyed with the idea of collecting all the MLB and/or Minor league mascots, some really neat ones out there, but I just don't have the space to put them. I am almost maxed out right now on my display space, so adding a new category just can't happen...lol

I wouldn't worry too much about not being able to complete a set of bobbles. As long as the collection is satisfying to you, that's all that matters. They're probably going to keep issuing them long after hardcore collectors have moved on to other things.

I have an assortment of things that I have collected with the intention of completing a set (Old Topps cards, early Brewer publications, vintage pennants), but I also have collected things that don't need to be complete. They can stand on their own.

I'm probably missing about 20 bobbleheads. Iceman, Mark Attanasio, Bernie Brewer (2004 Birthday), and Bill Hall (Track Suit) being the most expensive to come by, but as I said before its on the backburner. The only one I really kinda look out for now is the Uecker Indians. For some reason everytime I've wanted one, I never bid to own. Just hoped it'd fall in my lap. No biggie.

Someday I'd like to get into the T206 cards, there's 500+ of them, and about two dozen are way out of my league in price (especially Wagner). It'd be fun to do though.

I wanted to collect a card from every Wisconsin born player, but that won't start until I complete my sets of Milwaukee Braves cards.

The past couple of years I have gotten into oddball Brewers stuff from the vintage years. JD McCarthy postcards, Sunoco pinbacks, Kellogg's 3-D cards, Media Guides, Schedules, Yearbooks, Game Programs, Press Photos. . .nothing really valuable, just stuff that I think is cool.

T206s are great, really all those old cards are. I'm partial to the Goudey Heads Up cards, but only as an admirer from afar. I haven't dipped my toes in the water.

The boys at net54baseball.com have a great forum for the ancient cards. And it's interesting to see all the various pieces that come up at the big auction houses.
