Love this, from Mike Gianella, at Baseball Prospectus...

Anyone who guessed that Jason Bartlett would have produced the most WAR of the players in the Delmon Young/Matt Garza trade is a witch.

:laughing

That's awesome.

First ever MLB game being played at the Alamodome tonight between Texas and San Diego. Dimensions are 285' down the right field line and 410' to center and 354' to left. That could be entertaining.
Not just “at Night” anymore.

Any one know if this is being televised anywhere? I'd like to catch some of it between basketball if possible.

Everything I've ever known, I've learned from Brewerfan.net....Seriously though

I don't understand the argument. Winning the world series could be a once in a lifetime chance for us Brewer fans, and there are actually people here who want to pick and choose how we win it, then devalue a world series win if it doesn't fit their ideal criteria?

Would those people root against the Brewers if we were in the world series and just got hot at the right time? I wonder if any Cardinals fans were disappointed in their WS win when they squeaked in and won it all?

It is a hypothetical question is all. If I got to choose I'd rather have my team be a dominant team and win it even if it meant a bunch of rentals rather than being some team that everyone thinks just got lucky to make the playoffs and get hot at the right time but with all home grown guys. If you have to pick A or B I pick A.

I'll be there tomorrow. Don't think it's nationally televised. Maybe locally/regionally.

This brings back painful memories of some really sad years of the Brewers and their awful teams.

The Marlins starting lineup tomorrow

Pierre

Coghlan

Stanton

Polanco

Brantly

Solano

Kotchman

Hechavarria

Nolasco

Not pretty at all.

Perfect situation for Juan Pierre. 2141 hits at 35 years old. He'll get plenty of at bats.

I have a feeling that there is a scene from Major League that will be reenacted all over Miami tomorrow when people are reading this in the paper.

Fwiw, the temperature dropped suddenly & the Yanks were down 8-2 after a 3-run BoSox top of the 9th. I realize people hate the Yankees, but you can bet County Stadium would've emptied out in similar circumstances, too. Opening Day never draws too die-hard of a crowd.

I was going to post that, but I just thought it would take away from the hate I have for them. :)

Reminds me of that team from Mr 3000. One great power hitter and a bunch of really crappy guys

Bernie Mac was a power hitter?

I watched the Astos introduce their starting lineup and haven't heard of 4/8. I know I am not up too much on baseball, but that's kind of crazy.

Astros are ahead of the Marlins imo.

Castro, Wallace, Altuve, Cedeno, Dominquez, Maxwell, Carter and Pena have all been productive regulars or high upside prospects at one point or another. There is some sort of scenario where that isn't a bad lineup.

If he's not coming back till the All star game why not put him on the 60 day DL?

I don't think they gain anything from putting him on the 60 initially, so it's just standard procedure to start with the 15 day DL and iteratively add days as necessary

I tried to log in on my iPad. Turns out it was an etch-a-sketch and I don't own an iPad. Also, I'm out of vodka.
